also, spidey's gonna have a few problems here... can the directors/writers juggle all these multiple storylines without rushing them?
I still think we're going to see the origin, life, and death of Venom all in this one movie. Just because it's not in the trailer doesn't mean it's not in the film. It could just be that the Venom CGI isn't completely rendered or that they don't want to give away too much in the trailers (we barely saw any Bryce Dallas Howard, if at all in the trailer).
It will be interesting to see how they juggle all these characters in the movie. The main villain of this film appears to be Parker himself and the suit's influence on him, with Sandman acting as a peripheral villain to fuel Parker's dark side.
Spidey 4, if there is one, will be Spider-Man vs Lizard and/or Kraven, or something along those lines.
Just got a look at it for myself. I didn't see hide nor hair of either Bryce Dallas Howard or Topher Grace (or maybe I did. He and Tobey Maguire look so much alike). So there should definitely be more in the movie than what the trailer showed. But how the hell are they going to fit all this story without breaking AT LEAST the 2-hour mark?
That said, awesome AWESOME trailer!
EDIT: Saw it a second time. Hey how 'bout that? Topher Grace did his hair.
(edited by It's False on 10.11.06 1324) "That's the thing: Maybe he'll be up and down this season, but when he's up, is there another center in the league quite like him? He protects the rim, passes out of double teams, has great hands around the basket, up-fakes on his jump-hooks, rebounds in traffic, even has a motor that keeps going and going (unlike a stiff like Eddy Curry). I'm not sure what's missing here. This is stunning. This is startling. There's almost no precedent for it. Just what the Lakers needed: More obscenely good luck. Meanwhile, I have to watch Al Jefferson whip jump-hooks off the front of the rim for the third straight season. I will now pour scalding hot water down my pants." -Bill Simmons on Andrew Bynum (11/08/06)

Considering that Venom already made a full-fledged appearance in a clip from the third movie at SDCC, I'd have to say you are wrong. Venom's webbing can be seen in this trailer for instance these pics from the trailer posted on the SHH boards:
Looks like Venom webbing to me.
Sony made a smart move trying to keep Venom as under wraps as possible. May when the movie opens should be the first time the general public sees it. Venom is this movie's Darth Vader, but unlike Revenge of The Sith, Venom will deliver here.

Because for starters, it's the culmination of story arcs built up from the last 2 movies. For more, it's going to be more than 95 minutes (unlike trash named Fantastic Four and X-men 3). And even more so, it's in the hands of a competent production crew that doesn't include Brett Ratner, Tim Story, Simon Kinberg, Zak Penn, and executives like Tom Rothman.

The second movie was longer than the first one at over 2 hours. So what are you worried about? Hacks are not working on this movie.
X-men 3 tried to do even MORE with a shorter running time than this movie will have. I'd say we have little to worry about.

I'm very glad they didn't try to shoehorn Venom into this movie. It already seems pretty full.
Was sort of surprised by that statement when watching the trailer. Thought about it and I figure it's all just part of Harry's plot to get back at Peter. He uses Sandman to turn Peter into a killer and destroy his life. Or something...
I'm not too worried about them fitting in the villains I'm more concerned with fitting in Mary Jane and Gwen. It's not that I don't like a good love story in my action movie but I don't think the Mary Jane stuff has been particularly good so far so I'm not looking forward to some love tiangle with another chick.

So far next year I am looking forward to this and Transformers. This movie looks like it'll deliver. I wish I could feel the same about Transformers.
I went to a movie yesterday (Facing the Giants) and saw Transformers and Ninja turtles trailers back to back. I was totally marking out. Not sure if either is going to be any good but I'll be there opening weekend for both. My mom who was with me leaned over to me and asked if they were making a movie of EVERY cartoon I used to watch.
Don't know how long this trailer (youtube.com) will be up, but if you're willing to sit through the half-finished animations throughout the trailer, that certainly looks like Venom at the end...
You believe me, don't you? Please believe what I just said...
