Brock is a young guy. Why the hell would he rush to come back from an injury when it would probably mean shortening his career? And when SHOULD Lesnar lose? At Wrestlemania when he faces Angle? I'm glad the rest of you seem to know what the WWE's got planned for Wrestlemania because they don't seem to know what to do on RAW next week.

Lesnar HAD to lose, and soon. The longer he's the Undefeated Monster, the quicker people will tire of him and then we're back to them be piping in their own version of the "Goldberg" chants.

With Heyman on Big Show's side, and with someone other than only Vince booking Show, maybe this will work. I certainly don't mind if it means Lesnar stays fresher longer and therefore has a better career in the long run.

Second, who the fuck says a guy has to get punished for hurting someone? You do know this is a contact "sport", right? These guys get hurt all the time. I guess when RVD busts someone open, or Booker T breaks someone else's hand, you'll be the first to be demanding that they get the punishment you feel necessary.

And just to even out the scales: I didn't watch a minute of the show and I think it was AAAAAALLLLLLLLLLL GREAT!

Fuck the Show. The guy can go for what, three minutes before he starts huffing and puffing? His promos sounds like a slowed-down Droopy record. And he's tubby.

But hey, at least he's big. And you shills think this is good booking? One question - what will be your excuse when ratings start hitting the 2's?

While trying to figure out where all the Big Slug fans have come from, can we now say Paul Wight is the second coming of Sid Eudy. Very similar career paths, each capturing the imagination of the fans early in their careers; only to disappoint, both headlining a Mania early in their careers, only to get overshadowed by others involved, both getting titles when a company is down at MSG, and both being set up as a scapegoat. Just please make sure Big Slug does not go near Arn Anderson with safety scissors.

I want you to know, I agree with everything I've just said.

Sure... the guy who beat The Rock, Hogan, and UnderTaker, was beat in less than 4 MINUTES...the man who was supposed to be "THE" UNSTOPPABLE force, loses to the guy who injured him legit(nice punishment Wight got there). Way to kill the heat...it's only a matter of time before we see a finger-poke of doom in WWE soon.

Since the belt isn't really defended much on free TV anymore, why couldn't they just have Lesnar win by DQ, when the Big Slow hit him with the chair. then they could further it by Lesnar getting "injured" by the Big Show. He could take some time to heal(if it's a cracked rib, it most likely would take much less than 6 weeks), and come back bigger than ever...yes, it's like a TV angle, but it's MUCH better than what they did.

Instead they pull this out of their spincters...

*sigh*
Where do I even begin...

Lesnar threw the Big Show around like a baby and only lost because of cheating, how does that kill his heat or make him look like any less of a monster? HE F5'D THE BIG SHOW anyone who saw that or sees it is going to be into the guy, whether he won the match or not.

And what punishment should Wight have gotten? Its not like he deliberately tried to injure Brock, it was an accident. Just cuz you don't like the guy doesn't means the WWE should punish him for an accident. Hell, RVD injured HHH last night and people are already complaining that he's going to be buried as punishment. You can't have it both ways people! Either we accept that injuries are an unfortunate side to the business and shouldn't be held against anyone or we stop complaining when someone we like gets punished for causing one.

And asteroidboy? If shill means entertained by how they've been using the Big Show lately, then I'll happily go change my name. Making fun of his weight is bullshit reasoning for hating this booking decision, especially before anything has been done with it yet, and I think you know it.

Okay, so if you enjoy the current state of booking and think it's soooo entertaining, then why are the ratings in the shitter?

And the only think I "know" is that Big Show is an unentertaining slug, who happens to have an extra foot or two on the rest of us and he is lucky enough to work for a carnival. Fine, I understand that there's a place for giants. But is his size alone justification for this sort of push? And why are all of you sticking up for him, now? Redsoxnation pointed it out first - where did all you Big Show fans come from?

When have you heard the thunderous pops or the insane heat for Big Show in the last two years? What justifies him going over the man whom they've spent months feeding legends to? Brock got a HUGE pop when he came out at MSG, then he loses in a screwy finish. How is that different from Kevin Nash going over Goldberg?

I though last night's show was entertaining, but the problem still remains. The young guys who are getting big reactions are not getting enough exposure. That's going to the more "established" guys. And the company is in the toilet because of it.

The ratings have been in the shitter since the Invasion. Don't try and pretend this happened over the last two or three months. As a matter of fact, Smackdown's rating haven't dropped at all since the trade. RAW has. So no matter if you think that Big Show isn't entertaining, he isn't making people actively turn the channel. Triple H and Kane have.

By the way, who are the "young guys" that are getting these huge pops? Surely not Kidman, or Cena, or Hurricane, or Orton, or Rico, or Tajiri, or Noble, or Chuck.

Outside of Brock, there's TWO "young guys" that get any sort of super reaction from the crowd. Rey and Edge. But, uh-oh! They are faces and can't exactly work a program with Brock right now.

Can't give it to Angle, because then you're blowing the load for Wrestlemania five months early. Can't give it to Benoit, because Benoit will look like a tool when he loses (oh, and boy would the internet go nuts then!)

So while Brock heals, there needs to be a champion for him to chase when he comes back. WWE has done about the best job possible of making Big Show a credible force only months after jobbing him to every man alive.

(And I haven't always been a Show fan. WWE actually made me one this month.)

To go back to the discussion about Big Show's character not being intriguing enough, I think something that might help some (along with the interaction with Heyman that should occur over the next month) is new music. "Well, It's The Big Show" was a pretty doofy song to begin with, and if they want to help him get over more as a monster heel, give him some tunes that are more ominous. Maybe cross Kane's old school music with something downtuned and sludgy.

Granted, it's not going to automatically change people's opinions of him, but every little bit helps.

Gee let's see...Angle was the transitional champ the first time in between Rock reigns and then later due to patriotism and to make the Angle/Austin feud go on longer because not much else was working.

Jericho at least got some reaction, but everyone knew HHH was going to win at WM no matter what happened. Plus it's hard to be the over champ when the No Wrestlers Over, I mean New World Order shows up in the middle of your reign...

Gee let's see, the only time I've watched a show with marks they loved Benoit more than anyone because "he makes EVERY move look good." Besides if the ratings continue to tank, he can be the scapegoat like Sullivan tried to make out of him and the "We're not IWC so we MUST be cool" crowd can say "I told you so" and the bandwagon jumpers will follow suit just like they did with Austin etc.

Do I really need to answer that?

I'm ONE person! ONE! What I watch on my non Nielson boxed t.v. means shit in regards to ratings, and that's fine with me because the ratings mean nothing to me. I watch wrestling for my personal entertainment and enjoyment, and personally, I am entertained by the current Big Show character and that is why I will stick up for his being champion. I will happily admit that I did not like previous Big Show characters (Gimmick parodying Show, Tag team partner of the month Show, etc.) because I felt they made him look like a joke or required more than what can logically be expected from a man his size. I liked Big Show when he had footage showing that he wasn't a bad guy (i.e. the feud with the Rock for #1 contender), and I like Big Show as the sleeping Giant who woke up and realized he can take what he wants, which in other words is how they have booked him this past month. Any other time, I just don't care. I certainly don't hate the man the way most of you do, and having known over weight people who top 6 feet I can assure you that being super tall and overweight makes it incredibly hard to get in shape and stay there, so calling the man out on his size is ridiculous.

You ask what justifies putting him over Brock, I'd say an injury to Brock and the fact that Big Show is the only believable world champion on Smackdown outside of the Tag team trinity. Other than rehash the DQ ending/rematch from the Brock/Taker feud or abort two interesting angles in the Benoit/Kurt and the three way Tag belt feud situation (either one of which would have brought down everyone's wrath for last minute booking decisions or having another DQ ending on PPV) the only way to go here was to quickly build someone up to face Brock. Do you REALLY think Tajiri would have been believable with only a month to build up the feud? Or Mattitude?

I may not share your venom for the way things are right now asteroidboy, but I do agree that some of the younger guys who are getting the crowd going need to be moved up in the ranks. The thing is, the guys that need this (RVD and Booker T) are on Raw, not Smackdown, so giving Big Show the belt for a month until Brock's healed isn't going to hurt anybody.

Also Brock hasn't always been booked as completely unstoppable. Anybody else remember his matches against RVD that Heyman had to jump in to continue his un-pinned streak? And even now, he hasn't had a clean loss. It took chair shots, injured ribs, and his manager to turn on him to take him down. Give The Show a month or so and it'll all be better.

Exactly! This was a great way to finish the undefeated business so it doesn't become a problem later, while keeping Lesnar strong because a "monster" like Show had to cheat to win the match.

Besides, if a possible goal of a promotion is to get everybody over, then I think Heyman is the perfect complement to Show. He'll keep the belt for a short period of time, then things will be re-set. If this angle works, Show will be considered a threat when all is said and done.

With a goddamn broken rib, Brock Lesnar hoisted a 7 foot, 500 pound man above his head and flung him over onto the ground. Lesnar had it won before Paul pulled the ref out. How in the HELL does that do anything but make him look even more superhuman?

Maybe you didn't see it, but I was there at MSG and after the match, Brock got a STANDING ovation that didn't stop until he left the arena.

Brock's character has not been lowered in any way, I can assure you. When he comes back, he'll be even more over than before.
