Maybe some other people have this problem too. I've noticed other posts just up and disappearing.

In most cases, they are the same, but in a few cases (Jaguar and If I was a Rich Man are two examples from this very thread), there is a slight difference. How *instant* is the instant rating, exactly?

If you posted a series of dumb posts, theoretically you could watch your rating drop in the span of a thread.
The way that we implemented this opens up for some interesting reporting on ratings - which I may get to at some point if I'm really bored. Unfortunately, since this is the kind of stuff I do at work, I'm not likely to want to do it for free when I'm off. So - I probably won't ever actually do it.
Hell, the spell checker has been 90% done for what - 8 months now?
