Will my all of my Amiibo stop gathering dust? My AC Amiibo cards too?
Edit: If you see me online, check to see if I left my gate open. My very ambitious Nephew Chris gave me his fruits and they should be ready for harvest by Friday or Saturday. Thanks Chris! He has been playing non-stop and him and his girlfriend somehow got the six fruits already.
I think that there might be two different chat options for this game.
When you are wandering from island to island, there seems to be a general chat option to talk to people. Whoever is on the island at the time will see what you typed.
But, when you choose to Best Friend people, that is a different way to chat with its own chat system (I think). This seems to be a direct line to everybody on your best friend list. Also, this will send chat messages to your Best Friends even if they are not in your village, just online.
What happened (I think) is that Mika first accepted my Best Friend offer and you didn't and I was using that chat line when I was typing to her.
The other people in my Best Friend list are my nieces, nephew, and their spouses. So we can be very chatty, and the talk can get family themed. Also, we talk about our cats.
It is highly recommended to get the Nintendo app for your smartphone. You can link it to your Nintendo account and link it then to your game. It is on my iPad and that has an extra physical keyboard attachment and boy does it make typing chat a lot easier!
To answer my own earlier question about amiibo cards...
Once Resident Services has been rebuilt from the original tent to a real building you will be asked to build a campground. Once a campground is built, help the first camper move into your island. Also, buy a new resident housing kit from Nook for 10,000 bells and set that out. After I did this, Nook spoke to me when I was in the Resident Services building and unlocked the Amiibo feature on the ABD Nook Stop machine in the corner. I asked Pudge to my island via amiibo card, and he immediately warped to my new campground. He asked me to make him a garden rock and gave my the DIY plans to do it. I made it and gave it to him. I asked him to move in but he said no. This may take time and persistence....
It took inviting him three times and then asking him three times to move to my island. When he chooses to leave my island I will let everybody know.
