So who's the face here?
My guess would be Angle, so that the slow build to a face Angle facing a heel Lesnar at Survivor Series would begin. Only thing that really matters is that they keep Angle and Benoit as far away from the Chuckabilly ceremony as possible.

Don't want to botch Face Angle like they did last year.
I think Benoit will be the face. The crowd has shown in the past that they will cheer him.

I think this match is going to be a great one. Up there with the Owen Tribute match between Benoit and Bret Hart... | #7 Posted on 10.9.02 1141.37 | If Angle is headed for the Olympics several months down the road, you have to make him the heel here. You can pull off a face turn after the fact, regardless of how well he does. If he's not going, then go with the flow, but I'd still lean towards Angle being the heel, since Benoit does deserve another face run since the last one (which you can't deny was working) got cancelled by the neck injury.

| #11 Posted on 10.9.02 1505.16 | Everything I have read from Kurt Angle says that he will be staying away from Brock for a future match at Wrestlemania... I do not think it would be that hard to make Angle a face. So what if the fans chant "You Suck!" Remember when it used to be "You Suck! What?" That really is nothing more than the fans having fun. He could still be a face, and if he pulled it off well enough, they would start chanting something else on their own.

| #12 Posted on 10.9.02 1538.53 | Not sure why everyone's getting so excited...Last time these guys had a run together it was totally flat due to them being so diametrically similar that there was no-one to root for. As a result they resorted to ~LAME COMEDY BENOIT~, which I suppose is perversely entertaining in some way. The wrestling, however, was in the good-to-great range. Although personally I'd prefer to see Angle and Eddy go at it with Eddy in full rudo dick heel mode.

Benoit had a pretty good tough guy face routine going with Jericho before the neck thing. Let's see that again.

It's true! But tell ya what... I can watch Benoit/ Angle/ Eddie/ Jericho in any combination in any match over and over again. It's seeing HHH, Taker, and Rock in different matches against each other over and over again that gets old. Literally! Watching matches between Benoit and Angle is like watching classic boxing matches... they could do a best of seven series and still outshine just about any other matches on the card. To me, great wrestling never gets old. It's just that these days- we've gotta sift through all the bullshit to get it. | El Nastio

Build up Beniot vs Angle (Beniot face).
Then at Survivor Series: Beniot (face) vs Lesnar. Meanwhile, have Angle and Eddie start having problems. If anyone can make Angle into a face, it's ~RUDO Eddie.
Royal Rumble: Angle wins it, possibly setting up Beniot vs Eddie at Mania on top of Angle vs Lesnar.

| #17 Posted on 12.9.02 0521.29 | Instant Rating: 4.52 | If you'll remember, it really wasn't all that long ago when people were chanting “USA!” to Angle's music instead of “USuck!” And seeing as how “You suck, what?” has the same number of syllables as “USA”, it's certainly conceivable that wrestling fans could chant the latter to Angle's music again. It looks to me as if Angle's going semi-face (keep in mind it's been a coupla weeks since I've been able to see SmackDown). I actually think his face run last year was very good, and the buildup leading to his win at Unforgiven was excllent. But Steve Austin just had to get his title back after two weeks, didn't he? Whatever, this isn't about Austin. I think that if they could keep certain prima donnas from fucking up Angle's face run (HHH, Taker, I'm looking at you), Kurt could be a stellar face. I was at Conseco Fieldhouse for that Angle/Austin rematch at the “Greatest RAW of all-time”, you know-- the entire building was behind Kurt Angle. Against Steve Austin, mind you. The USA chants were louder than all hell. Kurt could be an outstanding top face, but the question is whether or not they want to push him as a face. He does make a killer heel, too-- hell, I daresay Kurt Angle could be booked as a time-traveling shoe salesman from Vermont and be damned good at that. He's just simply the best. “Now put that thing back where it came from or so help me-- Oh, hey! | #18 Posted on 12.9.02 1507.48 | I believe that Edge had it right when he said it should be "An-Gul An-Gul" instead of "You Suck You Suck", for a face Angle anyway.
But honestly, there are just some guys who work so much BETTER as heels. Vince, Eddie, HHH (like him or not) and I think Angle is one of them. He's much a more entertaining heel.
Benoit on the other hand is a bit more workable as a face, as evidenced by his run with Jericho against Austin/HHH last year. I would peg Benoit as the face here, at least for the duration of the match at Unforgiven.
