These two have fought each other so many times... but who has the upper hand on wins?

What's the record for these two fighting each other? What event and who won?

P.S. I just can't name them all.

Angle won at Wrestlemania X7, Royal Rumble 03, Judgment Day 01; Benoit won at Backlash 01. Those are the major PPV events that I can remember off of the top of my head, there may have been some TV matches they've had that I can't remember/care about.

Benoit also beat Angle with a screwy roll-up at Unforgiven 2k2, I believe.

One-On-One:
-Angle def. Benoit by pinfall in 14:02 [4-1-2001; WM X7]
-Benoit def. Angle in Ultimate Submission Match in 31:30 [4-29-2001; Backlash]
-Angle def. Benoit in 2 of 3 Falls Match in 23:54 [5-20-2001; Judgment Day]
-Benoit def. Angle by pinfall in 13:55 [9-22-2002; Unforgiven]
-Angle def. Benoit by submission in 19:48 [1-19-2003; Rumble]

Angle holds the lead in one-on-one PPV matches...but X7 was with a handful of tights and Judgment Day was with Edge & Christian helping.

Benoit had the tights at Unforgiven 2002. The only non-PPV match I can remember was the cage match they had on Raw in May 2001 I believe. I think that went to a non-finish because of outside interference by Austin. I think they also had a match in February of 2003 on Smackdown but i might be thinking of Mysterio.

Well technically Angle won the Iron-Man Match, as Benoit tapped out immediately following the bell and before the sudden-death overtime. Outside of the Rumble match I don't think there's ever been a case of one or the other truly proving their abilities over the other, and seeing as Kurt won that then kayfabe-wise I'd give him the nod.

They had about four one-on-one matches on SmackDown during the days of the SmackDown six, for the record.

Don't forget Benoit cleanly beat Angle in a best 2 out of 3 falls match at the Insurrextion 2001 UK PPV. Benoit won the match to falls to none.

I knew they had a match then. Didn't know they had so many TV matches. Now that we've taken care of one-on-one matches, I guess we can all find the matches that they were involved with together. I'll start with the triple threat match at WM2000 w/ Y2J and the Royal Rumble 2003 match!

All else I remember is two other threeways, one with Undertaker and one with Rey Mysterio, in Sept '02 (UT and Rey both won) and a fourway with Eddie and Edge in Dec '02 (Kurt won). Tags -- too hard.

There was also a match on the first Smackdown after Armageddon in December 2002.

Benoit def. Angle by DQ in a non title match.

I remember this also, because at one ppv with Angle vs. Benoit they were putting over the fact that Benoit had won like three times in a row or something. So Benoit has atleast a hand full of wins on tv shows.

Edit: I have just about every Raw and Smackdown (since Angle and Benoit have been in the WWE) and according to what I have taped these are Kurt and Chris's tv matches

Smackdown March 23rd, 2000 - EuroContinental Champion Kurt Angle wrestled Chris Benoit to a no contest
Smackdown April 20th, 2000 - Intercontinental Champion Chris Benoit defeated Kurt Angle via DQ
Smackdown May 25th, 2000 - Kurt Angle defeated Intercontinental Champion Chris Benoit via DQ
Raw June 11th, 2001 - Kurt Angle defeated Chris Benoit in a Steel Cage Match
Smackdown August 29th, 2002 - Undertaker def. Chris Benoit and Kurt Angle in a Triple Threat Match
Smackdown September 26th, 2002 - Mysterio def. Kurt Angle and Benoit in a Triple Threat Match
Smackdown September 24th, 2002 - Chris Benoit def. Kurt Angle
Smackdown September 14th, 2002 - Kurt Angle and Chris Benoit wrestled to a no contest
Smackdown December 19th, 2002 - CHris Benoit defeated WWE World Champion Kurt Angle via DQ
Smackdown February 6th, 2003 - WWE World Champion Kurt Angle def. Chris Benoit
