I just decided what they should do with Angle at Wrestlemania and considering what we're seeing on Smackdown right now, it may happen. They should have Angle face Kane. Those two have had some great matches in on a couple of Smackdown's in the past and I'd love to see a feud devolop which leads to a match at Mania. What do ya think?

Personally, I like Kane; but at this point, is he a big enough opponent for Kurt? I seem to remember Angle consistently beating him or at least looking stronger than him, and Kane isn't as high on the card as Kurt. Kurt deserves a marquee matchup at WrestleMania, but I suppose Kane is better than, say, Rikishi.

Maybe that can be a point in the feud. In the past year, Kane has been 0 and 2 against Angle. Maybe at 'Mania he 'gets his win back'

And yes, I'm ignoring the fact that Angle jobbed to Kane during his run as Euro-Continental Champion and once afater that. But hell, it's not liek the WWF will bring it up if it gets in the way of a story.

One of these days I'll come up with a sig that does not suck.

Wow, with the top three faces in the fed (Austin, HHH, Rock) already booked, what is one to do?

After the ass-whooping that I saw Angle give Kane, I gotta go with that as a matchup. Dammit, I wish Benoit were back, I'm a mark for both him and Kurt-- particularly when they wrestle each other. But we've been there, done that a few times, haven't we?

That's no reason to not do it again, Ekedolphin.
As for Kane, he may not be the best in the ring, but for some reason, there's certain wrestlers he always clicks with, and can put on damn good matches with them. (Angle and Albert come to mind). Since Kane has nothing better to do, and Angle needs a match, this is a good one.

Besides, we may see what we missed last year - Revenge of Pete Rose 4.

No matter how bad things may get, just imagine what would happen if Vince Russo was booking again, and you will feel better.

Yes, this is true... I could watch many, many more Benoit/Angle matches.

Kane's actually a very good wrestler, especially considering his size. I've always considered him the greatest big man in wrestling.

But his problem is this-- his character development simply has no direction. He's attacking bad guys one week, attacking good guys the next. He's not really on anybody's side (which is not necessarily a bad thing) but nothing he does really seems to make any sense. And that's a bad thing.

If the WWF could finally provide a long-term plan and feud for Kane, he might finally be able to take that next step. He's already very over with most of the casual fans, so it seems.

As of right now, after battling Triple H at No Way Out, a match with Kane at WrestleMania definitely seems like a step down.

Then again, we still shouldn't rule out the possibility of Angle weaseling his way into the WWF Title main event match.

I don't think the WWF should bring back Pete Rose. He's had three run-ins against Kane; three strikes and Pete's out.

Why is fighting Kane a step down?
Kane can get pretty big pop still.
Kane and Angle work great matches.
The crowd will love it.
IN that way this would not be a step down.

Difficulty is the way to build this match.
Kane isn't the kind of guy to cut an awesome promo saying how he is beaten by angle over and over but now it will stop. Especially since Kurt wins clean. Nothing for Kane to bitch about..
Now if Kurt was losing the Angle over and over it would be much more interesting.

Since talking about Benoit was invited does anyone know his predicted return date? I mean, hyping a mystery opponent for Angle that turned out to be a returning Benoit would solve everyone's complaint of Angle needing a marquee match and a match with some build up. At one point people were saying Benoit would be back for Mania, but I'm not sure if that news is still current.

Last time JR mentioned it, it was May..

Would be awesome to have him walk out while Angle bitches in the ring about not having a match..
'Not like you people in TO deserve to see me. I mean come on! At least *I* won my Olympic medal fair and square and I didn't have to whine until they caved in..It's true..oh yeah, it..."

Cue Crippler music..Benoit walks out..crowd goes bezerk..

The sicko in me wants to see Angle vs Scott Steiner go super suplex psycho on each other. Or Angle vs Shamrock to see who has the best anklelock. Maybe Ken will tweak his ankle extra hard for bringing his finisher into the big time.

I don't really think Kane is a step down, sure Angle is farther down the card than usual but when you have The Rock, Austin, Hall, Nash, Hogan, Angle, Undertaker, Jericho, HHH, then I doubt many people will be headlining ppv after ppv since they have a lot of different directions they coud go as far as matchups now. If Angle is going to try to make the Olympics in 2004 then he has to leave the WWF next year to start training, I would think he will get a good run towards the end of the year before he has to leave, if not sooner.

As for who I think his opponent should be, everyone was talking about a Hennig vs. Angle matchup when Hennig returned, so why not now? I know it's heel vs. heel but I personally would not mind.

If they go for Angle vs. Kane at Wrestlemania, I think there's one easy way to justify it (aside from the likelihood of it probably being a pretty damn good match based on their last two actual matches).

Pete Rose needs to show up earlier in the show, with Angle, and Angle can talk up Rose's baseball career and all his hits and his run at DiMaggio and the like. At some point, though, Angle would manage to note that Rose doesn't have a gold medal. During the match, Rose makes his run in, but being pissed at Kurt, he turns around and helps Kane win and their feud finally draws to an end, with the Big Red Machines stomping Angle down.

A few hours later, Rose can show up on QVC selling Angle's medals.

I have something I want to say about Benoit, and I really don't know where else to say it, so here you go:

The main problem I have with Benoit is that no matter who he works with, his matches are always geared to his style. It would be nice to see him adapt to his opponents style instead of constantly working the old-school submission-type match. It's not that I don't like that style, but with Benoit, it's become predictable.

Benoit's matches are predictable because he has a moveset...just like everyone else. EVERYONE's matches are predictable. Me and my friend can sit there and watch Raw and Smackdown and call every move before it happens and be right 95% of the time. So I don't see how Benoit is anymore predictable than anyone else. He might work matches only his style and not his opponent's but hey he's the best wrestler in the WWF so his style is pretty dang good to watch.

I see you point there. Benoit's style IS the same in all of his matches. That's why he's always a rung below HHH et al on the ladder. With Hunter he can pull out non-stop brawling, technical matches, sportz entertainment or a blend of all three. With Benoit, you just don't get that-it always his robotic asskicking style and nothing else.

Whoa, BucsFan, you diss Benoit on the internet?! That's some grapefruits...
Seriously, though, Benoit might stick to the submission style but he does bust out submissions you don't see every week. On top of that when opponents have to adapt to "his style", it usually brings out the best in them. Look at Stone Cold straight after his comeback, everyone was slating him as a one dimensional brawler until the match with Benoit on Raw when suddenly he was a technical genius again.

He's also worked the brawling style on numerous occasions, see his feud with Kevin Sullivan a while back, for example. I just think that in his last year or so he's been in feuds that kind of demand that submission based style. His matches have all revolved around a "who is the better wrestler" notion (HHH, Angle etc.), that sort of limits the kind of match that he could have as a result. I don't think it's that he can't adapt, it's just a circumstance thing.
