What the hell just happened there?

- Bye bye Jasmine, sorry you died JUST when you were getting kind of interesting.

-I think they could have done alot more with Angel running off to alternate universe.

-I can't wait to see what the hell they do with this...

I thought the season finale was at the end of May, with at least 2 or 3 more episodes this season. Did this change?

I liked that they moved on from all the "We love Jasmine" stuff, but they sure did it fast. Within about 15 minutes, she went from having everyone's love to being dead. I liked the show, but how come Angel could barely hurt her, and then Conner could put his fist through her head?

I am interested to see how this ends though, and here is hoping that it gets picked up for another season.

EDIT(1&2): I can't spell finale or barely. Also, thanks for the info Excalibur.

I don't think Angel could barely hurt her as much as he never got a good shot in. Then again, maybe because Connor was a parent, he (and Cordy) were tied to her in a way that only they could harm her like that.

The way they were twisting Jasmine I was thinking she might make an interesting, yet disgusting, member of the group. Guess not.

At least Connor picked the side of *good* in the end. For as much as the prophecies were unclear as to which side Angel would be on, Connor's outlook is much murkier. It was nice to see him try to work out his conflict rather than just blindly pick a side and follow it, although he did it for very self-centered reasons (Jasmine never took away his pain and anger). The fact that he always saw the real Jasmine is kind of disgusting, but like he said, he's seen worse. I'm expecting him to try to kill himself now and fail for some reason. Once that doesn't work, it will be interesting to see how he tries to lose the anger, or if he'll attempt redemption.

I was disappointed we didn't get more of Angel in the other universe, but his run-in just when Jasmine went live was fun. I like how the orb held back the creatures at the when Angel went through the first portal, and the head held back the people when he returned. Gunn finally kicking out the lock was funny.

My first thoughts upon seeing Lilah were if she's the First, but I'm giving up on any further direct Buffy references for the season. Looks like next week's ep will set up next season. Although I'm glad she'll be around in one form or another. I was enjoying the villain forced to help the heroes by circumstance that she was playing right before she died. If she keeps acting like that, whatever she might be, she'll be fun to have around. (What's Wesley gonna do?)

And I had read that the finale was May 20th (same as Buffy), but this was the 21st episode of the 22 ep season, so there would have just been a two week hiatus. Regardless, that info was wrong, and next week is the season finale. Yay!

I apologize for apologizing for being a Buffy/Angel mark.

The episode was very anti-climatic. Conner going to the light side at the end was uninteresting. I still think Angel is going to have no choice, but to kill him. I do smell the First being involved in the next episode. When the heros are tempted by a great power count on the power being very evil. I would like to point out was Angel working on the side of good? They stopped world peace which I assume would be a bad guy thing. I don't know. It would make sense that once they destroy a force of good that they would be rewarded by an evil. It will be fun to see how they tie it together with Buffy and if they do end it this season will Joss go for a big cliffhanger?

Like Rock running to save Raw, Angel is heading to Sunnydale in two weeks once the finale is over. I know that he is going to be in the finale as well. I can see him stayng on for a three week stint. Rumor flying around is that Buffy and Angel will hook up at the end or something like that.

Keep in mind I won't see Buffy here in Hawaii until Saturday and I REALLY don't want any spoilers on this week's episode. That being said...
Few things, Let's just say they're all
SPOILERS

A)Couldn't Lorne's lungs have survived the other dimension if everyone was going to die?

B)Lilah is SOOOOOO the First setting up Angel's run for the border (of Hell!)

C)Spike can have sex without losing his soul since he wasn't hit with the same curse right? Speaking of which, can't Angel? How could Willow have done the Gypsy curse when she
I)Must know a better spell
II)Is smart enough to know not to give Angelus another window
III)Coudln't have really done the same spell without the soul in the orb?

D)If this episode was supposed to be Conner's equivalent of "Storyteller" (give the crowd a reason to like him, which BTW they've tried like what, 30 times now?) they failed as everyone I know still counts down anxiously to his death.

Yes, I'm sure Lorne would have done quite well in a fight against the Keeper!

Seriously though, this episode was good, but everything got wrapped up WAY too neatly. Reminds me of Buffy Season 4, where they dispatched Adam in the second to last episode. (Of course, we got the cheese man in the season finale, so it was all good.)

I don't think Connor has chosen the side of good just yet. He still had loads of rage built up inside him. That punch (stright out of a SICK kung fu movie) was just his way of lashing out at yet another person who had lied to him.

So was Wolfram and Hart behind the WHOLE THING to begin with? (Pardon me if this was discussed already above, I skipped all the posts with the dreaded spoiler warning.)

If I'm not mistaken, Willow did use the exact same spell as season 2. After she released he soul from the container it was in, then she was able to use an orb of thessela to summon it and insert it into Angel just like before. I think the better questions to stem from all this are: if Willow can now bust this out any time she wants, why did she (or Buffy) not think to ensoul Spike this way before? Sure he gets the whole I can't be happy gimmick, but at the very least he wouldn't have been half the pain in their ass that he was.

I don't think Wolfram and Hart was behind anything at all. I don't know what's up with Lilah, but I'm thinking W&H are gone for good after what the Beast did to them (especially when he took out the little girl).

I agree that Connor hasn't explicitly chosen the side of good, but when he took out Jasmine he helped the good guys and did nothing for the bad guys. I also agree that they've got a ways to go to make Connor likeable, but at least we understand him more after what went on this season. It seemed like he was so stupid the way that Cordy and Jasmine were playing him all season and he just blindly went along, but at least now we know that he knew he was getting played and was making a choice. He's not so much stupid as pathetic and desperate. But yeah, I think that just when Connor finally turns to the side of good, Angel is going to wind up killing him. But that won't happen for a while.

Maybe Lorne didn't go simply because he was alive. The group didn't know what the atmosphere would do to him, but as far as Angel's concerned, it can't kill him since he's already dead.

1)Angel is dead in the human sense, but he's very much a living demon who needs to feed to survive

2)Lilah touched the curtain in the trailer for next week, so nope she ain't the first

3)Is there anybody on this board that actually likes Conner and isn't rooting for his death?

Connor is hands down the most screwed up character ever to appear on Angel or Buffy. People question him and call him stupid, but look at it: He's raised in a hell dimension. He returns to the present day to find and kill his real father, who he has been taught is the epitome of everything he should be against. Then he finds out his father is a good guy. Of course, his foster father Holtz kills himself and makes it seem like Angel did it. He meets Angel's co-workers, three of whom (Gunn, Fred, Lorne) don't particularly like him.

Then he falls for his dad's love interest, who's also the closest thing he's had to a mother. Suddenly, all at once, an apocalypse starts for which he gets blamed, his mother/lover gets pregnant and gets him to help her kill an innocent woman to facilitate the birth of the child (Jasmine), and during all of this, he finally comes face to face with the evil side of his father in the form Angelus. And this is BEFORE Jasmine is born and gets people to follow her, promising peace. It's no surprise the kid acts like he does...he's been screwed up and had his mind twisted from the word go.

I liked the whole Jasmine arc, particularly the confrontation between her and Angel on the overpass. It made for some interesting discussion on the matter of free will and whether or not it's a good thing that mankind has it. Interesting that Angel's crew always wanted the Powers That Be to get more involved, and then when one of them does, it turns out like this.

Power flows to the one who knows how -- desire alone is not enough.
