Ok, ok. In order:

+ Fred played the role of "reluctant Sherlock Holmes" pretty well.
+ Evil Lorne and then Kinda-Evil Lorne were both just fantastic
+ Gunn and Wesley should never have another scene apart. They play off eachother so well
+ Connor just makes you want to smack the crap out of him, which is good for a heel.
+ Hey! The faces are faces again! Whoo hoo! Mind control story still blows goats, but at least they're not making everybody out to be total dweebs any more.
+ Creepy book store guy stole the episode
+ Jasmine was actually pretty watchable tonight.

And the bad.

- I still don't think this story has enough in it to go all the way to the end of the season
- So if Jasmine isn't the first evil, why all the hints that she was?
- Funny/Misunderstood/Evil Demon guy would have been funny if a variation on the theme hadn't occured in every episode of the series prior to this one
- They're promising to kill somebody off next week, and after the bloodbath on Buffers, I don't know if they can live up to expectations.

Thoughts?

I kinda hoped they wouldn't use Connor as the one who was still under the spell. It just seems kinda lazy to fall back on Connor to be the one to provide tension again.

It was logical Conner wouldn't be turned since his blood is the same as Jasmine's blood. Of course, this means Angel could never be turned either, but I ignore that plot point. I still contend Jasmine has something to do with the First I am not sure what yet. If someone dies next week, I hope to God its Conner that kid needs a James Caan Godfather style beating. I would assume that one if not all of the supporting cast goes bye bye next week.

TV Guide is reporting that Angel is as good as gone. I think they would use Angel's season finale to wrap up Buffy's series finale. Angel's cast is fairly expandable to Buffy's cast got to remember they have only been a full cast for two years now while Buffy has been there for seven. I think Wesley and Angel will live, but everyone including Cordy is as good as dead. I think there is only three episodes of Angel left anyway, so I am not sure what they are going to do, but I just hope they end this storyline soon. Jasmine has been a disappointment.

A Fan- Good episode though.

I would have to think that since Jasmine's blood is about 1/4th Angel's, while 1/2 Connor's, it makes more sense that Connor would be more resistant than Angel. Plus, Connor does have the whole fatherly bond, whereas Angel would more readily accept what's going on (and he saw Jasmine's true form).

I hope TV Guide is wrong, but I guess I wouldn't be surprised.

I missed the part of the teaser where they mentioned they'd off someone. Couldn't be Jasmine already, could it? Maybe Gwen will come back out of the blue and get offed. After last time when it was Lilah, I'm a bit more doubtful about any of the regulars dying, even if there's a chance that this is the end. (Although if they off Cordelia, then that would indicate to me that they aren't planning for a fifth season.)

As previously pointed out, Jasmine only has to last three more episodes to run out the season (series?), so she doesn't need a lot of longevity.

I thought Fred using the bullet from Jasmine to Angel was a rather clever way of making the blood to blood connection. And although they more or less wussed out on the suggested Fred-Angel kiss, Angel did slip and say he bought the premise of them kissing, so that's another possible relationship set up. Fred is quite the little tramp this season. Then again, maybe their getting all this out before it all goes kaboom.

Creepy book store guy was fun.

I apologize for being a Buffy/Angel mark.

Another thing to think about with Angel/blood is that he needed to SEE Jasmine before he went back to normal. Remember, even after the spell was supposedly broken, he was still ready to kill Fred, which makes me think that it hadn't totally lost its hold on him yet.

And that led to the thing that bugged me. Why were Lorne, Gunn, and Wes able to be turned without seeing her?

Lorne's Judas line owned, though.

We don't know that they didn't see her. Its possible that maybe after being cut and hit with Cordy's blood, they were dragged out into the hall and forced to view Jasmine from around a corner or something. Although given that Jasmine was probably in her room at the time (was she eating those people while all this was going on?), that's doubtful. If I'm not mistaken, Fred was incredibly upset after her blood had been mixed, but she didn't freak until she saw Jasmine. Maybe that sadness was because the *connection* with Jasmine had been broken already (she complained that she needed Jasmine there), but she didn't know that since no one was there to explain it to her, like she and Angel would have been for the others. Besides, once the thrall is broken, I would have to think that Wes, Gunn, and Lorne would at least have even chances of being willing to hear out Angel and Fred, regardless of the prior brainwashing. The reason Angel (and possibly Connor) might have needed to see Jasmine is because they are direct ancestors to her, and share blood.

Although shouldn't Angel's blood composition change on a regular basis, based on what/who he eats?

Is it possible Connor's and Jasmine's blood had already come in contact when they were doing the hand-holding and she caught fire from the guy in the car accident?

I noticed Jasmine holding Wes' hand last night... D Von, get the peroxide!

Please let this be Conner's cue to die. Please.

The teaser for next week rules. "This thing is REALLY pissing me off." An untinetional nod to Lothos' last words?

EDIT! To add specifics, I saw her touch Wes for at least a split second, hand to hand. I figure Conner and Angel would be immune, and Lorne might be as well, but I was watching her like a HAWK all night to see if she touched Wes or Gunn. The Great Giles Death Scare of 2003 has made me ultra-paranoid about things like this.

Jasmine made skin to skin contact with Connor, Angel, and if you are correct Johnny, then Wesley as well. (I remember her touching his shirt.) I'm wondering if the *touch* she gave the crazy guy from last week isn't different than just your run of the mill touch. (It would have to be. I can't see why Jasmine would start killing her followers and protectors in such a careless way.) Otherwise, AI's problems just got a whole lot worse...

UNITED WE STAND

OK, my theories.

1- Connor always knew Jasmine's true form. He either had the fatherly bond, or he revelled in it. Either or. Hence his "cool" response to Jasmine eating the people.

2- The reason why it hit the gang what she really was without having to see her, is either (a) something specially having to do with Cordy's blood, it acted retroactively, or (b) they lost their communication lines with her, then it slowly started to fall into place.
