Most of the episode is a blur to me right now, but my personal highlight was definitely the Spike/Illyria sessions.

"Oh yeah, and don't touch the bloody clipboard."
"I will keep him as my pet".

Dammit, I had to deal with some family stuff and missed the first 30 minutes of the show. Can anyone feel me in on anything important that happened in the first 30 minutes? I finally caught it at the part where Angel is going to train Conner and their in the room alone with the weapons on the wall and Conner accidentally drops a few and Angel says something like "We will work on weapons later" or something.

From what I did see, another good episode. Good to see Gunn decide to stay and take the beatings. Although, Illyria is starting to bug me. Good to see Wesley actually up and around.

I was actually home to watch the first 30 minutes for once. It begins with Wes spying on Illyria in Fred's old chemistry office. Angel walks in and tells him, he needs to let someone else handle the Illyria. Wes agrees and Spike is put in charge of understanding her powers. In the meantime, Conner's fantasy parents show up saying someone is attacking their son and he keeps getting up from their attacks like being it with an SUV at 60 miles per hour. Conner runs into Angel much to Angel's suprise. Angel refuses the case, but saves Conner and his family when they are ambushed.

In the middle of this Hamilton goes to Gunn asking for help in mission, Gunn refuses and continues his torture. Wes' research leads them to the demon responsable for the attacks and apperantly for mind wiping the entire planet over Conner. He wants Shanna, demon from a past episode, dead if not, the world gets their memory back. I think thats where the second half takes off.

I liked this episodes, espically since everyone knows who Conner is including Conner. This should be real interesting as we get to the later part of the season. The in jokes were great too. Conner saying he always liked older women and Angel saying they were supposed to fix that was hysterical. It was a good episode, but it being one of the last five, they really need to pull out all the stops.

As soon as Wesley broke that little... window yellow box thing whose name I can't remember and they got back from the commercial, and showed all those flashbacks running through Connor's head I was just saying to my friend, over and over, "this is so cool."

Honestly, that was boss. I WAS a little disappointed that Connor retained his... goodness. I really expected him to turn around and try to swipe at angel with that axe. But I suppose this works out for the best because teen-angst-y Connor annoyed the piss out of me anyways.

I hope there are a few more ramifications for Angel wiping out people's memories. Although, the only one left to get mad at him of Lorne so... oooh. I guess not. Maybe Wesley will embrace his dark side again. Drunken, mad, fuck the world, Wes is just awesome.

I thought this episode was awesome. As pointed out, the dialog was great (putting Ilyaria with Spike was genious, especially with the set up), and the whole flip flop of betrayal between Wesley and Angel was awesome.

A while ago I guessed that it would end with evil Fred teaming up with evil lawyer Gunn against Angel. Now it looks like it might be evil Fred and crazy Wesley.

Gunn was awesome with how he brushed off Hamilton. Although what's to keep Angel and co. from taking some random guy and switching him with Gunn? Or rather, not so random, since they are sitting on a prison (what about that guy who was dead and harassing Spike when they were ghosts early in the season? He's locked up in some chamber beneath W/H. Why not use him?)

I'm a little disappointed the Connor arc didn't play more into the finale (well, not that it can't now, but I'd doubt it if this was the big Connor returns ep.) Still, it was good to see Connor walk off somewhat normal. Now he knows who he is and he's not so angry about his life. Did everyone retain the fake memories as well? That would give Connor two lives, effectively. I think there's enough material there for a spinoff about a superpowered boy living in the California suburbs.

Sahjahn was awesome, but they way rumours about his return had been flying, I imagined he'd have a bigger role. That Vail guy (or whatever his name was) is a dick for helping neuter Connor only to turn around and force the issue now.

Does this mean that both prophecies came true then? (Angel *killing* Connor when they fought in the sporting goods store so he could have his memory wiped) and now Connor killing Sahjahn? I think the only prophecy they've never addressed on this show was the demon that was supposed to rise in 2003 in Receda that they mentioned in the first episode of season 2.

According to Illyria's and Wes's convo towards the end, they retain both memories. This is essentially what keeps Connor sane, as he can make his own choice.

It was a good (& unexpected) way to redeem Connor. The Illyria & Spike segments were gold as well.

There is a theory which states that if ever anyone discovers exactly what the Universe is for and why it is here, it will instantly disappear and be replaced by something even more bizarre and inexplicable. There is another theory which states that this has already happened.

I thought that the prophecy about Angel killing Connor was a bogus one that was planted by Sahjahn......

I wanna know which WB suit cancelled this show so I know who to nominate for the 2004 John Edward Douchebag of the Universe award.

Illyria is hot.

Yes, but just because a prophecy is bogus doesn't mean it isn't going to happen -- well, I guess it does, but given that Angel slit Connor's throat to subdue him and alter his memories, it could be argued that Angel 'killed' Connor, at least as we knew him (even though he was sort of resurrected last episode, but not entirely since he now has his new life as part of him). I think the better question is if someone makes up a prophecy and then it comes true, were they legitimately prophecizing or just lucky?

I'd say that they're just lucky.

I didn't think that Connor had regained his memories, I felt that only Ilyria and Wes did; something to do with their proximity to the cube when it broke. I thought that the mystical wall shielded Connor. Not attempting to argue at all, just interesting that I interpreted the episode differently.

I'll also freely admit that I'm a latecomer as far as being a fan of this show, so there may be some season 4 stuff that I'm not familiar with. I only saw a few episodes from Season 4, and only through the magic of DVD have I seen seasons 1 through 3; we're taping Angel in the afternoons on TNT to catch up, so far they're through episode 12 of season 4.

Quincy suspects murder. I could do without the Macleod. But if they swap him out for Ellery Queen, I'm there! There's just not enough Ellery Queen on TV.
