That is awesome!!! (Though if all was right in the world, Andy Richter Controls the Universe would still be on the air.)

I thought this was just a (several days late) thread about Andy being on Conan last week, but this is MUCH better. I'm that much more pumped for the new Tonight Show now.

Did I miss that part? I didn't see any mention of Joel or Max Weinberg or La Bamba or any of the rest of the MW7, so I wonder if those decisions/deals have been made yet.
I think the most "important" bring along will actually be whether or not Robert Smigel will still be contributing/writing for the new show.
edit: And allow me to join the "YAAAAAAAY" crowd on Andy returning for the new show. I had thought to myself last week that I wondered if they would try to get him back to be "thier Ed McMahon" and bring things back a bit to the Carson days as opposed to the Leno days of no real "sidekick."

Conan announced (or mentioned) last week that the Seven are moving on to the Tonight Show with him. But I would assume that Joel is probably being replaced by Andy, which is sad, because Joel is my personal hero and role model.
That being said, let me echo the "Yay Andy" sentiment.
It is the policy of the documentary crew to remain true observers and not interfere with its subjects.
If you wanna reach the Co-op, boy, you gotta get by me.

Yeah, the article says that Andy will be coming on as the show's announcer, which wouldn't leave much place for Joel. I guess they could always find a spot for him, but since announcer has always been his primary job, I don't know what else they could really come up with. I am really glad to hear that the MW7 will be there - it wouldn't be the same without them.
There is also the fact that Joel is going to turn 71 at the end of march and that like Abe Vigoda is just too old to want to make the physical and lifestyle change needed on the other coast. I'm sure though that, health permitting, he'll probably show up once in a while as a special guest star.
Anyone catch this last night? I thought I'd give it a whirl because it had Shatner in it, though the awful commercials for the show almost made me not tune in. I thought it was okay, but nothing special.
