It's a complete rip that Fridge is going in and MONGO is not. He was a US Champion! (As he still has a presence in Chicago, it'd get much more of the local press they're looking for.) Such anti-WCW bias.
They're not inducting anyone who's still active and don't like to induct deceased people, which is why Flair will never be in at this rate. Though Animal doesn't always look too active/alive.
I know that the WWE is supposedly on the outs with Savage, but I think it's really interesting to see how practically all the footage shown (on Velocity this week and other places) is almost completely sans-Savage save for a clip where they show them both on the Brother Love Show.
It's either AWA footage, Sherri/DiBiase footage, or Sherri/HBK footage.
It's just a message board, people. Chill out. Now, go show your internet diapproval of me! YEA!
Originally posted by Mr ShhThe televised special on USA is only an hour long. There are 8 inductions, and I really, really want to see all of them, but that ain't gonna happen. We'll get Bret and Eddie obviously. Maybe they'll throw Fridge's induction on the show too?
They're gonna be showing the first 2 hours on WWE.com. Which means Bret, Eddie, and Mean Gene (since Hogan is inducting him) will make the USA portion of the HOF ceremony.
The Calgary Sun has an interview up with Bret Hart. In it, Hart says he will not appear at WrestleMania 22, saying he will be at the Hall of Fame Ceremony and will then fly out of Chicago on Sunday (the day of WM22). He added that he knows WWE will try to convince him to work the show but that he won't. Interestingly enough, Hart says he has not signed the contract WWE sent him about even showing up at the Hall of Fame Ceremony and again stated that he is not being paid to appear.
Hart also mentioned that he does not want to see Shawn Michaels at the Hall of Fame Ceremony and that if he does, he will walk out.
"I've basically told them that if I see Shawn, I'll get back in a cab and go straight to the airport. They'll have to get him to do my induction speech. I just feel that there's too much anger for me. Too combustible."
Hart again stated that he won't work for WWE after the Hall of Fame Ceremony, saying that it is his way to say goodbye to the fans.
So, do you think Vince and company can resist pulling some sort of stunt or will Hart be the one to fly off the handle and sound like a bitter old man? I don't see why Hart would be in Wrestlmania 22 unless he got to wipe both Shawn and Vince out and go over himself. This really has the makings of the first HoF car wreck, but maybe the HoF goodwill bug will strike Hart as well.

It's been too long, and Hart's too professional to just use the opportunity to get in front of a microphone and shoot on McMahon and crew during a HoF induction ceremony. And from watching the DVD and reading/hearing his comments since last Fall, it's readily apparent that while he'll still talk about it, Bret's primary motivation for "one last goodbye" is to make the fans push aside the Montreal incident and not allow it to define his career as a whole.
Additionally, as much criticism as Vince gets (most of it probably deserved), he's worked far too long to re-establish a connection with Bret and the rest of the Hart family to do something like have Shawn show up just to get a rise out of Bret.
I don't think people grasp just how close the Harts and McMahons were at one point.
