Is THIS. (youtube.com).

Its not the original theme...I think its very catchy, but I'm still undecided about the bagpipes at the beginning and end.

More information and a high-res video can be found here. (cbc.ca)

What does everyone think about it?

It's fine. Nothing spectacular, and it won't send shivers down my spine like the iconic one TSN stole (which actually isn't the original theme either, but has been in use since the sixties).

It's not even the top of my "dumb HNIC moves" list. That would be the addition of Mike Milbury. I actually like Milbury, but the man does NOT fit in this picture.

I'm with you, Oliver. It is a a pretty good theme to listen to, though the bookended bagpipes throw it off a little bit. In a way, it reminds me of listening to the closing theme of This Week In Baseball when I was a kid. Now that was a great theme: it always gave me goosebumps and made me want to make a diving catch into the outfield wall every time I heard it.

So yesterday the arbitrator made his decision and sided with the NHL. So Kovalchuk is a free agent again. Also the arbitrator is apparently investigating other front-end loaded contracts like Luongo, Pronger, Hossa and Savard.
