Diane Lane? She's a fine actress and all.... but she seems a little young to be playing a teenage Clark Kent's mother.

Smallville set the tone for Kents who aren't old fogies and it was a welcome improvement.
Like Annette O'Toole, the new Martha Kent is a SuperMILF. There were reports two weeks ago of interest in Kevin Costner for the new movie as well, presumably as Jonathan Kent. That would be amazing casting as Clark's Smallville family.

I know what you mean. I HATE it when fictions that are primarily plot and character driven try to incorporate the complexities of modern day life. It's like they're trying to relate it to the real world or something. And what about Adama and Roslyn!?...
