I knew I had to be forgetting some. :-) Still they broke up 3 teams (4 if you count the wacky mismatched RVD/Booker team). With the shuffling, I don't see any of the switches making natural pairings with the exception of putting Edge back with Christian, and that's not where either guy should be going.

I know it's a matter of time, but if he's taking another break for filming, HHH isn't really in the picture for a while. Turn RVD heel (and I think it can still be done, so long as he's paired with the right guys) and there's no reason to have HHH beat him again.

Maybe a late trade for Haas? I'd rather keep them together too, but they'll both do just fine in singles. If they're not dominant tag champs, then they're not really being groomed as the next big stars (not that much of anybody else is either).

In limited doses, they both can make good contributions. Once the nostalgia wears off, Taker's shelf life will be very limited. I've really enjoyed him over the years, but he's at the point where he should be establishing new guys. HHH has other things going on and can be effectively limited there as well. I know neither are going to give up their spots willingly, but HHH did a terrific job making Benoit look like a star at WMXX and sold well last night for Eddie. I'm interested to see where this latest reset leads.

Jindrak to Smackdown: I have no real opinion either way on Jindrak. I hope he makes something out of it, but he's probably slated for Velocity.

now if Vince was smart, like another person posted on here... Bring Ohaire in and team them up, and you have another team to go against Rikishi and the other guy

But I want to see them feud w/ each other. I enjoyed their match on SD, and think it could be used as the foundation of a damn good feud. I liked the story of teammates forced to wrestle each other, reverting to their amateur roots to feel each other out, w/ Benjamin acting cocky, and the surprise win. Build on that, and you've got a fantastic feud.

I just absolutely LOVE posts like this.

Let's see, he took a smallish federation and in 20 years turned it into, what's his net worth again.

And what's yours?

I agree with your sentiments on "posts like this"...but to pick nits it technically was his FATHER that built up the smallish federation into a national power, Vince just made sure to consolidate his supremacy by running competitors into the ground.

But, BUT, the Apter mags always had the WWF Champion as just "Champion" because the WWF was considered a northeast-based promotion and the NWA and AWA had "World Champions" because they were international pronotions. I'm pretty sure Vince Jr. was running the WWF at the time (early 80s) and the Apter mags were SURELY telling the truth, weren't they?

No argument there, but this was after the period I'm speaking of. Hogan was champ for a while before PWI ever had him listed as "World Champion".

Now, I had always heard that it was in fact Vince Sr. that took the WWF nationally. Remember that bitter Paul Heyman promo during the Invasion where he talked about Vince's dad going to all the territories, shaking their hands, and promising not to bury them when he went national but Vince Jr. did it anyway. I'll confess, I'm not familiar with this era, but the that's the story as I heard it over the past 4-5 years.
