I was trying to hold off really talking about this until next week, but thought I'd go ahead and get started...I'm gonna try my best to keep this up during this year.
Tonight we got the guys, and they’re going to try make the last cutdown, as 2 more will be going by the wayside on Thursday.
-Blake is up first, and out of the guys, he’s one of the ones I like the best. He busts out what sounds like a 311 song. He’s definitely one of the more unique contestants this season, if not ever on Idol. He shouldn’t have a problem making the final 12. Rave reviews by all of the judges.
-Sanjaya is up next, and takes on “Waiting on the World to Change” by John Mayer. Simon made a comment after Blake’s performance about this stage being Karaoke. And Sanjaya does nothing to refute that. I’d say he’s a shoe in to go home, but as the last 2 weeks has shown, you can’t count on anything.
-Sundance is batting third tonight, singing Pearl Jam’s “Jeremy.” Good choice for him. Definitely has a rocker voice, and was able to show off his power. He’s been super safe from the past 2 votes, and he should coast this week as well. Simon some what disagrees.
-Fourth is Chris Richardson. He breaks out the Keith Urban song that Ace Young sang last year. I believe it’s called “I Wanna Cry”, but I’m not certain. I don’t see what the big deal is with him, and thought it was just ok. He just doesn’t strike me as anything special, however, I think he’ll probably be safe.
-Jared Cotter starts the second half of the guys, and he’s just uber bland for me. He gives me the impression he can just get by in the competition with good looks. The name of the song, I couldn’t tell you, but Randy says it’s a Stevie Wonder song. Better than his previous efforts, but still not good.
-Brandon Rogers sings “Celebrate”. What do we have here, another unimpressive guy. Notice a trend here?? He may be on the borderline of the cut, especially with Sanjaya dodging the bullet lately.
-Phil Stacey is up next, and sings a Leann Rimes song. Ouch. That was painful to listen to. I thought he would easily make the top 6, but I don’t know, that was really rough to listen to.
-The show closes out with Big Chris. I’m not sure of the song, but thought he gave the best performance of the night. I don’t necessarily like the song, but I thought he did a pretty good job, and should easily secure a spot in the top 6 guys.
So a pretty boring night, and this is how I got them ranked for the night.
1. Sundance 2. Chris S. 3. Blake 4. Chris A. 5. Jared 6. Brandon 7. Phil 8. Sanjaya
However, I think it’s Brandon going home and I’m gonna say America finally gets it and sends Sanjaya packing tonight as well. And we’re done until tomorrow night, when the girls face off.
I should add, Paula was particularly brutal tonight, even more so than Simon, and I thought it was great. She seems a lot better off this season than she did the last couple of seasons.

Blake - He's so far beyond everyone else it's crazy. The kid is talented, although the goofy thing before he sang was....well goofy. Top guy by far.
Sanjaya - WOULD YOU SING WITH A LITTLE MORE PASSION PLEASE!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! Jesus someone stick a cattle prod up his ass and see if that'll get him going. Come on kid, get off this show now.
Sundance - Nah, I'm not digging it. Not horrible, but Pearl Jam would have been rough for Daughtry to pull off and Sundance ain't Chris.
Chris R. - You know I've hated him, but this week for some reason I thought was really solid. Taking a country song and making it slightly more pop and being less annoying with his motions. Good job and should be safe.
Jared - Follow Sanjaya out the door son. You aren't near as hot and hip as you think.
Brandon - I don't know why others are down on him this week. I thought he did really great, second best of the night. He's got a great voice, though I'll admit he still hasn't picked a song to really show it off. If he's gone this week it'll be a joke. Lose the belt though dude.
Phil - Saved it slightly but wow did it start horrible. I have no love for this guy. Blech.
Chris - I agree with the judges that he's already getting old. Same deal every week. He's gotta show he can do something, anything else. Should be safe.
I'd say it's a toss up due to places like vote for the worst, but Jared, Sanjaya and Phil were the worst by a good bit.
All that scene did for me was make me hope Shane catches a bullet. Or better yet, ends up in Long Poke with Antwan Mitchell. He's acting like he's a saint, and is mad that anybody else is trying to call him on his shit.
