Here we go folksits Top 12 time. Tonight its the music of Diana Ross. Ryan Seacrest reminds us we only have 3 more months of this.holy cow, that seems like a long long time.

Leading off the night is Brandon. He sings You Cant Hurry Love. It starts out just so bland. The guys dont get started right, its almost too bad they still cant be eliminated in pairs. Oh, and he either added a way long dramatic pause for nothing, or he completely forgot the lyrics. Just awful. Judges seemed really let down by it too.

Melinda is up next, singing Home. Id say better than the first, but thats not exactly that hard a feat to accomplish. Starts out ok, then she kicks it into extra gear and really brings it. Easily safe. She made Paula cry. Wonderful. Simon drops the young Gladys Knight compliment on her. Wow.

Third up is Chris Sligh. He tells Diana hes gonna perform Endless Love. Just kinda there for me. Not nearly as bad as Brandons, but not in the same company as Melindas either. I think though, his likeability factor will keep him around for a week or more. Judges hated that he rearranged the song. Ouch.

Going cleanup tonight is Gina Glocksen. Shes going to be singing Love Child. I liked her a lot tonight, considering that song isnt exactly in her genre. Definitely better than both of the guys thus far, and is definitely this years rocker chick. She should easily be safe just on that regard. Judges didnt quite care for it, but shouldnt have a problem with it.

Sanjaya is up next, and hes going to be singing Aint No Mountain High Enough. He just comes across that hes too afraid to actually sing, which makes him sound just terrible. Sundance missed this round for this guy. Great. No, really, great, good choice. Brandon is doing backflips in the back, because hes no longer the worst of the night. Slammed by the judges, but hes getting used to it.

Sixth up is Haley. Shes going to be singing Missing You. It just hit me that she looks a lot like Mickie James. She started out solid, and it got rough in the middle. Paula and Randy didnt care for it, but Simon comes to the rescue and gives her some much needed support. I think shell get enough sympathy vote to keep her on, plus, she didnt do that bad a job. She should be back next week, it still was not terrible though, and better than any of the guys thus far.

Lucky number 7 is Phil. Tonight hes going to be singing, Im Gonna Make You Love Me. Hes doing better than any of the guys thus far, but thats not saying much again. Hes not one of my favorites in the top 12, but Ill still give him some props. Judges liked it for the most part, but still had some critiques.

Next is Lakisha, whos singing God Bless the Child. When shes on, shes untouchable, not even Melinda can hang with her. Tonight, shes on. She blew right by Melinda and the rest of the pack with her song tonight. Just wow.
Following next is Blake. Tonight hes going to be singing Hanging On. Hes definitely the most modern of the group, and just seems to have the whole package together. Great performance, and very top 40ish, which is what theyre looking for. Randy and Simon didnt care for it, but I though it was a great version.

Tenth for the night is Stephanie. Not a big fan, which means my anti-bias is going to probably really show through. Love Hangover is the song she picks tonight. Singing wise, shes great, but there is just something about her that makes her completely forgettable and boring.

Closing out the group of guys is Chris. Hes singing The Boss. Hes another of the group, that I just dont care for. He and Phil are right there at about the same spot for me, alright, but just not enough to make me put him way up there. Paula and Randy liked it, but Simon didnt care for it for the same reason he didnt care for Blakes performance.

Last up for the night is Jordin. Shes singing If We Hold on Together. Shes very solid as well, maybe lacking the power of LaKisha and Melinda, but has a very pretty voice. Shes my dark horse to win the entire thing, shes just really talented, and has the look thing going for her more than say Melinda and LaKisha. Great night for her, and a good way to close out the night

That being said, this is how Ive got them ranked for the night

1. LaKisha
2. Melinda
3. Jordin
4. Blake
5. Gina
6. Stephanie
7. Chris R.
8. Phil
9. Haley
10. Chris S.
11. Brandon
12. Sanjaya

Sanjaya really needs to go if theres any justice in this damn thing, but it could easily be Brandon or Chris S as well, and I think Haley might also be in danger, although I dont think she should have to worry about it. But I really hope its Sanjaya goin home.

Results tomorrow, and then we're on to next week.

No chance. He's charismatic enough to last well into the season. He'll probably be the last guy standing. Brandon's going home - boring at the very start of the show is the kiss of death. No one remembered him by 10:00 to vote for him.

Really still not seeing your Lakisha love. She gets more boring to me each week and can't touch Melinda. It's a fact, I checked.

Brandon - I honestly didn't notice that he forgot the words. Thought it was pretty decent actually once he got to the hip wiggle.

Melinda - There isn't a single bad thing I can think to say about her at this point. Well, other than the looking like a midget thing. She rules.

Chris S. - Hey way to be original by destroying the song. Right idea, horrible execution.

Gina - Pretty darn good. I hate it when the fans cling to something and copy it like the Taylor hair and now the Gina red streak. It looks cute on her, stupid on you.

Sanjaya - He makes me want to stab things at this point.

Haley - Ah, playing up the boobs and legs this week I see. Kat McPhee would be proud. Still boring as hell, but whatever.

Phil - Phil sucks.

Lakisha - My wife wouldn't stop fixating on her cleavage being misaligned with her dress. She's like, boring and stuff.

Blake - the judges suck. You've got the "make the song your own" and "be original", but oh wait not with that song! Shutup. Great job by him and no he definatly should not just try to sing a standard as is. That would HURT his chances you idiots.

Stephanie - Didn't know the song that well so I don't know what they were babbling about. She's very eh. OK I guess.

Chris R. - The voice works for country, but nothing else. He's not hip. He's so stiff when trying to dance it looks stupid. And watching him sing out of the side of his mouth bothers me. And he can't hold a strong, solid note. Other than that I LOVE HIM.

Jordin - She's just too cute. Like Paris, only not afraid to admit she's a young girl who likes Disney songs. She's got a shot at this thing.

Sanjaya should go home, and probably will. But let's say maybe Phil does instead.

I didn't think LaKisha was all that great this week. She's better than most of these alleged singers, but Melinda rules.

This morning, Steve Czaban thought you could have shown a movie on LaKisha's dress. Nice.

Phil doesn't suck. I kind of like him. He's kind of goofy and likable.

Vote for the Worst will keep Sanjaya on this show for several more weeks, I think. He looks so defeated at this point, I am surprised he doesn't just quit.

Chris Sligh will stay on because he has the lovable big guy thing going. I agree with the comment about consistency with the judges, though - is it "make it your own" or is "don't rearrange classic." It can't be both, people.

That said - on talent, Sanjaya should go home. In reality, it will be Brandon since boring and first is a bad mixture.

I'm not sure about Sanjaya. I mean vote for the worst WAS pushing Sundance last week so they must not have as much pull as some people think. I'm betting Sanjaya just has a large base of semi-retarded, tone deaf fans at this point.

I've noticed this year, DialIdol is having a lot more difficulty gauging who stays and who goes this year. They had Sanjaya as completely safe and he was in the bottom three. Makes me wonder if the higher ups at Idol have found a way to mess up the way they score the voting.

It's either more people are texting their votes this year or the producers are actually setting up their own bottom 3 with only 1 or 2 being in the actual truly voted bottom 3. I'm leaning to the text votes being up b/c on dialidol, Brandon, while being an at risk contestant wasn't ranked anywhere near the bottom.

The accuracy of the "bottom three" doesn't matter because the voting totals are NEVER revealed to us until the finale. This is most likely a case of good TV. What would stop them from putting Sanjaya (or Phil) in the bottom three, just because they want to make voters think that Sanjaya should be lumped in with the losers? We'll never know, but conspiracy theorists probably have argued all of this before.

I say, just enjoy the drama of it all. Although I wouldn't put it past the producers to constantly have Sanjaya appearing to be on the brink of elimination when he's not - just hoping that viewers will eventually catch their hints. Not saying that they're doing it, but if I was the producer, I'd consider playing around with things when I could.

Just had to throw this in somewhere, as it's must see tv for me tonight.

Slight spoiler I suppose but seeing as how the contest is live maybe not:

Sanjaya has decided to say fuck it and lose his mind for us tonight. That's right, he's said to be rockin a mohawk.

Plus he's gonna "sing" You Really Got Me by the Kinks.

I'm officially excited.

edit..damnit, late update:

"ETA: According to Ricky, Dean the hairstylist is having trouble with the gel, so the Faux-hawk may not happen, or it will happen in a modified version"

DAMNIT DEAN MAKE THIS WORK FOR ME!!!!
