Ok so if I have to be the one to start these stupid threads, so be it. There has to be someone else wanting to talk Idol too.

Please?

Phil Stacey - “Missing You” by John Waite - Phil bores me. I mean he's not terrible, but he's goofy looking and not memorable. In fact at the end of the show when they recapped my wife and I both were like "hey I forgot about him". Well actually my wife was like, "hey I forgot about Dumbo" but I've got big ears too so that's just mean. He won't be gone this week, but isn't a contender.

Jared Cotter - “Let’s Get It On” by Marvin Gaye - This guy really needs to calm down. How often do you see real stars doing hand motions to represent what they are singing? Cause Jared does it on every other word and it's annoying. Wrong song to try, not that great a singer and dude lose the bright white sneakers. His face when not saying anything says smooth soulful dude, but then he opens his mouth and ack.

AJ Tabaldo - “Feeling Good” by Nina Simone and Michael Buble - I actually kinda like this kid. Or I want to like him. I think he's a good singer, but just a little....effeminate? Does that describe it correctly? If you close your eyes he's a potential contender. As is, I can't look away. It's a kinda Mango-ish quality I guess.

Sanjaya Malakar - “Steppin’ Out With My Baby” written by Irving Berlin - Poor kid is all I can think of when watching this one. It's like he's afraid to sing. You could barely hear him half the time. It's a shame because I think he could be a good singer. Last week I said to no one in particular that he would be great doing Michael Jackson type stuff and when they opened the show and I saw him I was like, "NOOOOO, You should sing his songs, not wear his outfits!!!!" All wrong.

Chris Sligh - “Trouble” by Ray LaMontagne - He did a solid job, but I have a feeling he may get a little bland as this goes on. I'm waiting to see what he does when they force certain styles on him. He's funny but it's like he's trying really hard sometimes to be funny. Could get old fast, but for now he's cool.

Nick Pedro - “Fever” by Peggy Lee - Nick is soooooo boring. He's not bad, just ...nothing. Wait, his dedication intro was baaaad. As in please someone get him to stop repeating himself and just sing. Bye bye.

Blake Lewis - “Virtual Insanity” by Jamiroquai - Blake is the only guy who looks totally natural up there on stage. Plus even if you don't like the beat box stuff, at least it shows how creative he is, especially when compared to the other guys. I think he's the top male contender right now by a mile. Though the turned hat thing is always stupid looking. Kids these days.

Brandon Rogers - “Time After Time” by Cyndi Lauper - Brandon may have the best overall voice, but damn can he not pick a song. I'm thinking he will be lucky to make it to next week and that's a shame. Trying to explain why you were boring to the judges hasn't really worked for anyone in the past dude. I'd try not being boring next time instead.

Chris Richardson - “Geek in the Pink” by Jason Mraz - I can't help but think of Elliott now with this kid after he did two Elliott songs already. Plus he's got the same stiff movements on stage. Problem is his voice can't match up. Like they say, he's like Justin Timberlake, just without any of Justin's talent.

Sundance Head - “Mustang Sally” by Wilson Pickett - Despite his sucking last week and in Hollywood I think people really wanna like Sundance. Maybe it's the name. Or the chest hair. Or the sweating. And really he did do a great job with this song. I think he's still a little nervous up there and maybe will have problems with certain theme weeks like I expect from Chris S. Glad he turned it around finally though.

So figuring that Sanjaya will yet again get sympathy votes, or joke votes, that keep him in play I'd say they will lose Nick and Jared, but fear Brandon may be out instead of one of those two.

Tonight we get to see if Antonella cracks when she hits the stage and comes to the realization that we've all seen her boobs. Wait, why would that bother her?

Is that big black lady that belted out the Aretha Franklin song in the auditions still on the show? It was one of the only episodes I've watched this year, but that lady was on a whole different level than everyone else I've ever heard sing on that show.

I don't remember specifically what she sang for an audition but they do have a big black lady on the show with a killer voice. Lakisha is her name and she's doing really good so far. Though they have a couple other women with similar style that are probably gonna steal votes from each other I would bet.

I would just like to thank American Idol for kicking my Idol obsession by picking by far the worst group of singers since I started watching.

I'll watch just to see the beat-box kid, Chris Sligh (the fat Jack Osborne lookalike), Lakisha, Chris Richardson (tall dude with a buzzcut, trying to look like Timberlake), Sanjaya (Indian kid with long hair, who is pretty out of his league but gets "joke" votes I believe), and Antonella Barba (the internet nudie pic darling who is terrible and will likely keep getting votes from www.votefortheworst.com).

A few worth watching, and a few who are so terrible, it's fun to watch them trainwreck week after week. If I were to pick a winner right now, it would be the beat-box kid. He's got the voice, look, moves, and originality. I think people will get tired of Lakisha or take her for granted as we get further into the competition.

In other news, Taylor Hicks is becoming the worst Idol to date, as far as sales go. He's the only Idol champ to not sell a million copies of his CD in the first few months (he's just barely sold 650,000). Even Katharine McPhee (his runner-up) will likely outsell him.

While there are some train wrecks I don't think the talent overall is any worse than last season. In fact I'd say they have better females than last year by a good bit, but I hated Kat so whatever.

Gina Glocksen “Alone” – Well she went a little more rock this week doing a Heart song, which was a good decision. But it wasn't great or anything. Not bad and she's different in the good kinda way, but I'm betting she has trouble getting votes. Rocker chicks aren't as cool as rocker guys. She needs to go back to obsessing over Simon. It was cute. That should have been her dedication.

Alaina Alexander “Not Ready To Make Nice” – Dixie Chicks? This song? On Dedication night? Really? Maybe I like her too much but I would almost put Natalie Mains in that category of female singers it's best not to take on. She seemed meek and boring. Plus the finger pointing and circle thingy. Why are they all doing that now? I love it when the judges start by telling the girl she looks good. You can tell the girls immediatly know it means they sucked.

Lakisha Jones “Midnight Train To Georgia” – I'm already getting bored of her. Though her hair looked better I suppose this week. Pretty much on the Mandisa express of a few great weeks and then bye bye cause it's the same thing every time.

Melinda Doolittle “My Funny Valentine” – Well I didn't know this song that well so at the start I was kinda bored, but then midget head lady poured it on a bit and was pretty damn good. Is it me or do they pick a person or two every week and give them a much better production value than the others. Like the camera and lighting is set up better, they flash around to the band like it's a video and stuff.

Antonella Barba “Because You Loved Me” – She looked really good tonight.

I don't think I've seen bright yellow shoes before.

Jordin Sparks “Reflection” – A Disney song. Ok then. Guess she's playing up the young girl thing. Maybe she can do Hillary Duff next week. Wasn't horrible, but come on.

Stephanie Edwards “Dangerously In Love” – Yeah she's boring me. Plus ugly, which while insulting, honestly doesn't help her much. Then again, Fantasia did win this thing. *shudders*

Leslie Hunt “Feeling Good” – So they kinda like her jazzy sound. I kinda think she sounds like she smokes ten packs a day. Plus the outfits? I mean ??????????? Scatting? No, shut up and go away. That was horrible.

Haley Scarnato “Queen Of The Night” – Is she kidding with this? Has she never seen the show and noticed that no one should ever do Whitney? In fact lots of girls tonight were shooting way over their head like this. She annoys me in the Kat McPhee kinda way.

Sabrina Sloan “All The Man That I Need” – I can't stop looking at the huge nose. I just can't. She sang a song I think. It might have been ok. Jesus you'd have to turn your head 90 degrees just to kiss her under that umbrella. Eww.

So yeah um, Antonella should go home because she sucks, but it's in the train wreck kinda way that'll keep her around still. So let's say Leslie and Alaina go home.

Yes, we are watching at the Piehouse, but I feel like I am doing it out of some sort of obligation, though.

Melinda Doolittle is clearly superior to most of these other "singers."

I'm with JJD at this point - not really watching or caring at this point - all that really gets accomplished before you get to the final 12 is you get to see who has some regional fan support.

I did see Leslie Hunt "scat" last night and it looked & sounded like she was having some sort of seizure.....

She sounded and looked like one of the fembots right before Austin Powers made their head explode.

Melinda has a wonderful voice but exudes Lance Storm-like anti-charisma. I see her ending up one of those people who gets voted off and then everyone says "how could they vote off someone so good?"

The problem is that they don't have a female who can really do anything outside of the "big big big voice" type singers. Gina tried to be the rock chick last night, but just sounded like a Mariah/Christina/Celine/Whitney type attempting to sound like a rock girl. But at least she's slightly entertaining.

Antonella is going to survive for a while I suspect, despite having seemingly no talent beyond looking stunning.

Ok, so the women might be better than last year's crop but I really don't like the guys. I liked Taylor, Daughtry, Elliot and even Bucky better than all the guys this year except maybe the beatbox guy. The buzzcut guys is alright I guess. Chris Sligh is funny but has no singing talent.

The women can sing better but none of them really makes me want to care about them at all. I mean really, a lot of people hated McPhee last year but at least they cared one way or another. None these girls make me feel anything, they're not Idol caliber, they'd sell less records than Taylor.

From Leslie Hunt's exit interview with EW:

"Some members of the fashion police had issues with your skirt-and-leggings outfit this week. Care to defend yourself?
Really? I just don't like my legs that much. I probably would have pulled the leggings down a little bit, but the stylist thought they would be better up around my calves or my knees. I like to dress creatively. I wouldn't feel comfortable performing in a ballgown or leather chaps, not that I've ever worn them in my life. I thought it was a damn cute outfit."

Ok then.
