Batman, Lois Lane, Rocket Raccoon, Hawkeye and Mystique band together in a very strange superhero crossover movie.
Actually, it's a rather by-the-books con flick based in part on real events. It will be remembered and celebrated for the main cast performances, particularly JLaw, who was incredible. Christian Bale, who was also awesome, is completely unrecognizable in his makeup. Louis CK kills in a supporting role. Topping it off is an uncredited cameo performance that would steal any other film.
I thought this movie was overly long but I liked the twist ending. The cameo was really good. I really hated Bradley Cooper's character but I guess that was the point. We'll never hear the end of the ice fishing story. Surprisingly, I thought Jeremy Renner was going to be the weakest character but I liked his character a lot.
I didn't think it was overly long, but it did take a little time to get to know all of the characters and get the plot rolling along. That being said, I really liked this.
Christian Bale and Amy Adams are both in top form and Jennifer Lawrence turns in her typical great performance. As oudom said, Jeremy Renner really shined for me as his character felt like the most honest person working among a group of con artists. Bradley Cooper wasn't bad, but someone had to get lost in the shuffle, given who he was sharing the screen with.
One of the better movies I have seen this year, but then again, my wife and I don't go to the movies that often.
I've always considered Amy Adams to be cute-to-pretty cute on the attractive scale but good lord, she was absolutely a million bucks in this movie.
"It breaks your heart. It is designed to break your heart. The game begins in the spring, when everything else begins again, and it blossoms in the summer, filling the afternoons and evenings, and then as soon as the chill rains come, it stops and leaves you to face the fall alone." --- Bart Giamatti, on baseball
Got to see it as my birthday gift. I loved it. I identified with Bale in a lot of ways. Adams were gorgeous and deserves Oscar talk. I thought even Renner brought the goods. I wanted a bus to kill Lawrence and Bradly, but that was the point. I almost stood up and applauded with the cameo. Holy shit, it was awesome.
The Wee Baby Sheamus.Twitter: @realjoecarfley its a bit more toned down there. A bit.
While she did have a career, mostly in the 1950s and early 1960s, she was one of the first people famous for being famous. I am old enough to remember her making the talk show circuit, especially Merv Griffin.
