This was a sub-topic on a different post, but I think it deserves it own thread. Can anyone contribute to trying and piece together any memories of this segment on Brother Love:

HAHAH, that post above about Amanda Ultimate Warriar brought back some memories. That was one of the funniest things I've seen on WWF TV.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

what was this??? i rememeber it vagley but its not really rining a bell.

It's been about 14 years since I've seen this but I'll give it a shot. Anyone else feel free to fill in the blanks:

As an attempt to make the new WWF Champion Warrior more kid-friendly, a segment of The Brother Love Show
featuring Warrior as a guest had Warrior introduce one of his Little Warriors (supposedly his niece but do't hold me to that)who when asked her name identified herself as "Amanda Ultimate Warrior". Which of course is smark-funny now unto itself for obvious reasons.

But what proceeded was about 5 minutes of Warrior talking to and annoiting the kid as one of his little Warriors, but him interacting with the little girl was one of the most
creepy, unintentionally hilarious, most whacked out interview segment I've ever seen...and that's just by WARRIOR STANDARDS, mind you.

It was one of those segements never to be spoken of again by the WWF and really at that point, the writing was on the wall that Warrior's title run was about to tank and tank badly. And how Wrestlecrap never gave this segment the treatment it fully deserves I can't figure out.

Sums it up fairly well. Warrior lowered his voice and tried to act like Mr Rogers. Big pay-off was Warrior picking the girl up, smooching and saying "I love you, Amanda Ultimate Warrior..I love you".

That bottom part of the post looks vaguely familiar...

Actually I think you can chalk all of this under "sorry I mentioned it". :)

Good gawd, I have this around on tape somewhere. Here's a transcript of it. To preserve my sanity, I've edited out the discussion hyping Summerslam 1990.

BL: Ravishing Rude will be the next WWF Champion, and he will be the WWF Champion of Love.

UW: What do you, Brother Love, know about Love? If it was not for the love that these Warrior have for me, I would not be standing here as the world champion. Do you think, as I go to the ring to do combat, it is the only time I have the full-blown intensity of a Warrior? Can you not, Brother Love, feel the love that the Warriors have for me right now? Whether the warriors come in big or small, small packages. I saw a small warrior around here earlier. Where is she? There she is.

(little girl runs out, with face paint, tassels, and Warrior kneepads - Warrior picks her up)

UW: This Brother Love, is what love is all about. What's your name, little warrior, what's your name?

AUW: Amanda Ultimate Warrior. (sounding just like someone forced to read a kidnapper's ransom note at gunpoint)

UW: Did you hear that? Amanda Ultimate Warrior. Because see Brother Love, To understand the intensity of the love that the Warriors and I have for one another, you have to undertstand the strenghts powers that we possess. For the biggest muscle I have is the muscle that heart the pumps good love to my warriors. This little warrior, like all my other little warriors, have muscles. Show them your muscles, Amanda. Show 'em. (she flexes) Like all my other little Ultimate Warriors, she has other talents. Show 'em the cartwheel. Show 'em the cartwheel. (She does a cartwheel). Awesome. Do a handstand for the Ultimate Warrior.

AUW: What?

UW: Do a handstand for the Ultimate Warrior.

(She does one for about half a second, and warrior starts briefly pumping his arms and grunting)

UW: This, Brother Love, right here is what intensity and love is all about. I love you, Amanda Ultimate Warrior. (he kissed her on the cheek) This is the Ultimate Love.

I should actually remember this but I can't. I think I remember Warrior holding a kid. Maybe I'm repressing.

Even Hogan, when he returned in 1990 and got another reign in 1991, couldn't live up to his old standards. No one could until 1997, and then it was Hogan again.

If I remember correctly, Warrior's reign was below Hogan standards, but that hardly qualifies as "tanking." Everyone likes to bag on Warrior for being a shitty worker and a total nutcase, but dammit, that's what made him a huge draw in the WWF, second only to Hogan.

That's pretty damn good.

And he had a cult.

Blitzkrieg has chronic problems in his wrists, and makes more money as a programmer than as a wrestler. He considered making a comeback in the company he started with (Revolution Pro in California), but his wrist wouldn't hold up. He cut a promo instead....
