From the AP wire:

NEW YORK (AP) - Balloting for baseball's All-Star game will begin Sunday at Miller Park in Milwaukee, in a process that also involves internet voting, voting in retail stores and the distribution of 10 million ballots overseas.

Balloting in all stadiums will be taking place by May 13 to determine the starting eight field players for the 30-man American and National League teams. Substitutes and the pitching staff will be chosen by the league managers.

Did you notice in the lead voting will actually start this weekend in Milwaukee? Which, incidentally, is a month before everyplace else? Is the Commish trying to stuff the ballot box for "his team?"

Last year when the game was here, we got to start voting at Safeco Field before everyone else did, so it's not a case of Bud trying to rig things for this year's game.

Maybe my man Richie Sexson will get the nod at 1b for the NL then.

Kickass.

In all seriousness, usually one or two stadia have the ballotting before others. It'll even out, since every stadium gets an even number of ballots. Of course, more people will be attending Yankee Stadium to fill those ballots out than, say, Le Stade Olympique, but that's life.

Edit: I wish I could type.

I read in today's paper that Internet balloting starts on May 1st.

I've never been to Dodger Stadium, and it may well be THE greatest place ever to see a ballgame, but it's because of similar sentiment that the Red Sox still play in that shithole Fenway Park. Sometimes progress can actually be a good thing.
