Meh, Baerga hasn't had that much playing time, was off to a hot start, and has cooled down considerably. They may only bring one guy (Schilling) to the team this year. There are many OF's in the NL having better seasons than Gonzalez, plus, Vlad, Sosa, and Bonds are virtual locks for the starting jobs.

Yeah- but isn't that what it should be? One game that features the players we, the fans, want to see?

Don't get me wrong- I know Blalock and Texteria are doing fantastic, and should be on the team. But dammit, I want to see if Randy Johnson can get his fastball by Manny Ramirez, or if Manny can take him deep. And if that's what most of the fans want to see (I'm not saying they are, just using that as an example), then why disagree with it?

Of course now that Schilling is back on the DL again (Today's MRI showed that indeed he does have 2 broken bones in his hand from getting hit by that line drive the other night.) he's probably out of the running. The D'Backs just can't catch a break this season. (arr-arr)

Given the ratings the last few years, the fans don't care.

I'd rather see the best playerrs from each league, regardless of team. It would be a lot easier for guys like Blalock, Mora, etc. to make the team when they deserve it if you didn't have to worry about dragging a Devil Ray, a Tiger, and a Padre to the game every year(to use this year's standings as an example).

Justin Huber, who played down here for the Tides... This is an interesting move, as I think the Mets gave up a lot of top prospects to get these guys. So is this a "right now" move instead of looking to the future?
