Yeah, they were holding back a bit because they both had PPV matches on Sunday, but it was still quite awesome. Daniels even teased an extra 5 minutes at the end, only to go all uberdick heel on us and walk away.
This is good news. Now if they'd only let AJ carry the PWG belt on TV. ;)

If TNA can hold out for a while, they should probably put Daniels into world title contention sooner than later. Either way, I think Daniels and Styles are better off as far as their wrestling careers go in TNA over WWE.

Well he once wrestled against Jerry Lynn on WWE Metal for the Lightheavyweight title. It was televised.

| #9 Posted on 20.5.05 1743.14 | Instant Rating: 10.00 | Daniels appeared on WWE syndi shows when they around his area for a couple years until his first WCW stint. And he was at least one OVW tryout camp, because Meltzer was making fun of how the best guy there was a guy they've known about for a long time and it still probably won't get him signed. (and - it didn't!)
The strikes against him are probably size and speaking ability, just like everyone else. I imagine if he didn't have better paying Japan deals when he did, he might have taken a WWF developmental contract somewhere along the lines, but it probably didn't make much money sense.
(I think that's why the top indy guys don't end up in WWE developmental; if you get to Indy Name status, you're going to scratch out a much better living on your own than you would with OVW. The WWE isn't very competitive with their offers because they feel like they have all the power, but it screens them from getting the more established guys.)
He was told he'd be picked up full time, following his match vs Michael Modest, when Eric Bischoff bought WCW. But of course that didn't quite happen.

Actually, in Daniels' case, it was just size.
Daniels knows WWE has no interest in him, and New Japan seems to be dicking over their gaijin talen so he has nothing to lose signing the contract with TNA.
