I'm skipping this PPV for several reasons (1. It's Valentine's Day and I have other commitments; 2. I'm still crabby about TNA's last PPV; and 3. I don't want CRZ to think I'm "dumb") but let's do this anyway.

There's really only three results here that matter.

Team 3D vs. The Nasty Boys
TNA's site is saying that this where "The Countdown to Lockdown Begins," so I'm thinking the Nasties win here, then they skip next month's all-X Division PPV, then finally blow things off with a cage match at Lockdown. (I'd like 3D to bloody and break the Nasties and run them out of town on a rail, but I doubt we're that lucky.)

8 Card Stud Tournament - winner gets a title shot at Lockdown
Here's the first matches:
The Pope vs. Desmond Wolfe
Hernandez vs. Matt Morgan

Kurt Angle vs. Mr Anderson
Mick Foley vs. Abyss

The chart on TNA's site implies that the winners of the first two face each other and the winners of the last two face each other.

I'm predicting that Mr. Anderson takes the whole thing, so working backwards, the winners are:

Dinero
Morgan
Anderson (due to interference from The Band)
Abyss

And then:
Dinero beats Morgan
Anderson beats Abyss

And, finally, Anderson beats Dinero.

AJ Styles vs. Samoa Joe with Eric Bischoff as special referee
Styles. Sure thing of the night.

Nasty Boys and the feud must continue.

Pope over Wolfe by DQ, Morgan over Hernandez, Anderson over Angle by shenanigans, Foley over Abyss

Pope over Morgan, Anderson over Foley

Pope over Anderson

Styles over Joe

That way they have 2 feuds set up off this - Pope saying he's 1 up on Styles, and Wolfe saying Pope didn't beat him fair.

Styles wins when Bischoff screws Joe somehow.

Nasties win via chicanery. Feud continues because God hates me.

Wolfe beats Pope. Pope's awesome, but not ready for prime time just yet.

Hernandez beats Morgan.

Anderson beats Angle after nWo-erference.

Abyss beats Foley when Foley lays down. Abyss is told to unmask on Impact next Thursday.

Hernandez beats Wolfe in the night's best match.

Anderson beats Abyss after a round of cheating.

Anderson beats Hernandez. Sure Hernandez has been pushed for the better part of six months, but Anderson's allegedly a huge star, so he gets the win here.

I agree it's probably going to be Anderson but I really hope they don't go with Anderson as the tournament winner. Anderson vs. Styles is only going to get Styles a face reaction. So I'm going to go a different direction.

Nastys over 3D

8 Card Stud Tournament
Pope over Wolfe
Hernandez over Morgan
Anderson and Angle end in Double DQ to continue a feud
Foley begrudgingly beats Abyss

Pope over Hernandez
Foley gets bye much to the chagrin of Bischoff

Foley over Pope

AJ over Joe

Why Foley? Bischoff's involvement in the Joe/AJ match makes me think he is going to help AJ win so it makes sense that AJ's next opponent would be somebody that is feuding with Bischoff also. I hope that I'm wrong and anybody from the top half of the draw wins, even Morgan.

That's totally true. It wouldn't surprise me, though, if Anderson won and then at some point before Lockdown Jeff Jarrett somehow won the title shot from him.

That's the only thing I see possible coming out of an Anderson win, which is why I picked Pope. Anderson vs Styles on PPV? That's practically heel vs heel and the WWE just learned how heel vs heel matches backfire sometimes. Both guys need the heel momentum and Anderson can recover from a loss better than almost anyone on the roster.. it's not like his gimmick is he's an unstoppable badass, he's a trash talking whiny punk that doesn't always win.

Knowing TNA, the title shot will part of a 4 or 5 man match, so the heel/heel won't matter.

Team 3-D. Not sure why I think this, as there's logic to getting a win under the Nastys' belt, but I'm hoping that they aren't really going to take the Nastys seriously.

Pope over Wolfe.
Hernandez over Morgan in a "shades of grey" way (i.e. something less than clean to create the possibility that Hernandez is turning on Morgan, but not an actual turn).
Anderson over Angle.
Foley over Abyss.
Pope over Hernandez.
Anderson over Foley.
Anderson over Pope. I do think they want to push Anderson, and they don't want him in a position of a guy who doesn't win the big ones. If I were picking right now, I'd say that Anderson will be the next TNA champ.

AJ. Not that things in TNA have to make any sense, but why in the world would AJ be intimidated by Bischoff making himself special ref and saying he'd call it right down the middle? But it would make a little sense if they were putting on a show for the camera to disguise that Eric's going to help AJ win. Not that the story really makes any sense then, but it's as much sense as they're likely to make. B^)

Team 3D vs. The Nasty Boys
Team 3D. They will finish them off at Lockdown where I expect a TNA vs. Hogan's pals fight occurs.

8 Card Stud Tournament - winner gets a title shot at Lockdown
Here's the first matches:
The Pope vs. Desmond Wolfe-Wolfe
Hernandez vs. Matt Morgan-Hernandez

Kurt Angle vs. Mr Anderson-Kurt
Mick Foley vs. Abyss-Abyss

Then Wolf vs. Kurt where Kurt wins after a failed Band run-in.

AJ Styles vs. Samoa Joe with Eric Bischoff as special referee
AJ after tons of Flair interference and a pay off to Eric.

I still think they could put in a woman's match and an X-Division Match. Unless they plan on giving each match 10 to 15 minutes which is kinda cool.

Team 3D vs. The Nasty Boys: Team 3D dominates, but the Nasty's get help from somebody (Bubba the Love Sponge?) And get the win setting up a cage match at Lockdown

8 Card Stud Tournament

The Pope vs. Desmond Wolfe- They seem to be high on The Pope so I'll go with him, but Wolfe will also look good.
Hernandez vs. Matt Morgan- Morgan wins here, because again they seem high on the guy.

Kurt Angle vs. Mr Anderson- Angle seems to be on a mission to win back the title so I don't see him winning tonight Anderson moves on.
Mick Foley vs. Abyss- Foley wins and Abyss turns heel for no real reason

The Pope vs. Matt Morgan- hmmmm... This is a tough one I'll go with Morgan because Pope will come out looking like champ at Destination X.
Anderson vs. Foley: Anderson wins here and Foley tries his best to put him over.

Matt Morgan vs. Mr. Anderson: I'll go with Mr.Anderson. They seem to think he's going to be TNA's next big thing.

AJ Styles vs. Samoa Joe with Eric Bischoff as special referee
Styles for the win, Bischoff actually tries to be fair, but ends up being distracted by Flair and missing Styles cheating.

This sets up Mr. Anderson vs. Styles at Lockdown with Hogan/Bischoff in Mr Anderson's corner and Flair in Styles.

Can't believe I was the only one who saw Pope winning after the recent win they gave him over Styles.. you all really don't believe in TNA that much?
