Yep! Your Green Bay Blizzard, in the mist of an 0-8 slump in their first year of Arena Football League 2 play, got their first win in franchise history tonight (7 Jun 03), beating the San Diego Riptide 53-43. Read about it on the Blizzard's official website.
How ya like THAT, Guru Zim!?
My first AF2 game, and it was pretty fun. I could definitely see going back. Not to mention...mmm...Green Bay Freeze dance team...
Star wipe, and...we're out. Thrillin' ain't easy. . . THE THRILL ACW-NWA Wisconsin Home Video Technical Director...& A2NWO 4 Life!
They'll probably get their second against my Louisville Fire who fell to 3-7 last night losing to Bakersfield, and effectively killed ANY playoff hopes the team might have had (and at 3-6 how can you have any?).

I swear, after hearing all of this and the fact that the Xplorers (the Memphis team, which I could start a whole new thread on why our team names must suck) are also something like 1-whatever, are ANY af2 teams over .500?

What's it with Memphis and the letter "X"? Memphis Xplorers, Memphis ManiaX, Memphis EXpress, etc.
(edited by Grimis on 9.6.03 1040) "Certainly one of the chief guarantees of freedom under any government, no matter how popular and respected, is the right of citizens to keep and bear arms. This is not to say that firearms should not be very carefully used and that definite safety rules of precaution should not be taught and enforced. But the right of citizens to bear arms is just one more guarantee against arbitrary government, one more safeguard against a tyranny which now appears remote in America, but which historically has proved to be always possible." - Sen. Hubert H. Humphrey, 1960

'cause they're the FedEx hub?
I've always thought it was less FedEx and more a prevailing aura of cynicism - since all those teams have basically left the city proper (with the exception of the Express, as that name change never really materialized). Hence, the X. Hell, the Xplorers are even in Desoto County, MS - and they're not the first team we lost to them. (That would be the CHL Riverkings, who, ironically enough, are twice-defending CHL champions, but only after they left. The story of Memphis sports.) We're a bitter lot down here about our sports, you understand.
THe best back in the NFL does indeed play in Missouri. Only it is 270 miles east of Kansas City. I dont care what you say, until he cannot run any longer, Marshal Faulk is the best back in football. It isnt his fault that his coach forgets this fact.
