| #1 Posted on 12.11.03 1439.54 | Instant Rating: 6.61 | -Adult Swim's new Sunday schedule debuts this Sunday (11/16). No Action / All Comedy before 1 AM Eastern (which suits me just fine).
11PM - Aqua Teen Hunger Force (in the middle of a run of new episodes which have been hilarious so far)
11:15PM - Sealab 2021 (new episode run starts this Sunday - who knows if these are episodes produced before the passing of Harry Goz)
11:30PM - Brak 11:45PM - Space Ghost 12AM - The Oblongs (I guess it's The Oblongs' turn in the Sunday rotation - no complaints here) 12:30AM - Mission Hill (personally, I'd rather see Home Movies)
-As far as Sealab goes: commercials say 11:15, but bumper cards as recent as last night say 11:30. And yet AS still brushes off viewer complaints about how they handled the Big O/Family Guy screw-up.
-Speaking of Family Guy, the Weinstein episode aired for the first time ever on Sunday night (with only one edit as far as I can tell). It popped a huge 1.4 rating for AS, with 713,000 viewers in the Adults 18-34 demo. Um, I'm not sure who would be watching outside that demo.| Promote this thread! | | emma

Somehow, I think there'll be complaining about THAT for a long time to come. Complaining, and conspiracy theories. It's like wrestling, minus the sweaty guys.

Nahh. . .They finally ran the Big O finale AND had a stealth premiere for the 4th season of "Home Movies," and that satisfies me easily enough.
I'll complain because once again they're putting "Reign" on the schedule.

God, seeing that depressed the hell out of me. Who clamored for THAT one to come back? I'd been under the impression that Reign was right up there with Baby Blues as far as "get off my screen" heat went.

Anyway, they have no new shows. They have to put something in that timeslot. And while Reign does suck, it's better than watching them go through the run of Home Movies again. Cause you know, everytime you see a repeat of a funny show it becomes less funny.

Even Family Guy is getting less funny. Which is why moving it to 11:30 was a good idea.

What I don't understand is why they moved it to 11:30 (switching it with Futurama) when that was the timeslot it was in several months ago. I had just gotten used to Family Guy being on at 11, and they went and put everything back the way it was, and now I'm all confused again.
And agreed on the Family Guy getting less funny with each viewing, although that's partially my fault for burning the show out because over the summer I was watching both the AS airing and the TBS rerun the next day.

| #9 Posted on 13.11.03 1030.00 | Instant Rating: 4.38 | I think "Reign" showing up again has something to do with the DVD boxset coming out. In a few weeks FLCL will be back in that timeslot since they're determined to play all 6 episode until I hate it.
Anyway, they have no new shows. They have to put something in that timeslot.
True, and since they've elected not to run "Lupin 3rd" ever again, their options are somewhat limited.
And while Reign does suck, it's better than watching them go through the run of Home Movies again. Cause you know, everytime you see a repeat of a funny show it becomes less funny.
Whoa, good thing Home Movies has a whole new season of shows CN's sitting on. The bad news is "Home Movies" got pounded in the ratings in the Sunday "Oblongs" timeslot and so they're on hiatus until January.
Just as well--it never fit that late on Sundays.

They ran the Season 4 premiere Monday at 3:00 AM, another of those "stealth premieres CN does for contractual obligations."
Damn funny episode too. The season proper starts in January.

Hey now, don't misinterpret... I thought Baby Blues was great myself. I was speaking more of what the overall consensus was, not really agreeing with it.
Except for Reign. Reign sucks in ways I can't even find metaphors for. The DVD set should come with a handwritten apology.

I was only half paying attention, but wasn't there one of the bumper dealies to the general effect of: "Reign is coming. Yeah, we know. But c'mon guys. You had Aeon Flux. This one's for the ladies." Uhhh, no, really, that's OK. Not on my account. And, when did AS ever show Aeon Flux?? That's one they really do need to get the rights to! | Nate The Snake

Hell, Aeon Flux never did anything for me. At least not in THAT way. It was kinda neat watching her die every episode (Trey and Matt TOTALLY stole that for Kenny) but she was hardly sexy.
Watching Aeon Flux and Reign reminds me of one of those high-concept fashion shows. The models are... kind of interesting-looking, but not in any kind of "human" way, and not really what I'd call attractive at all.

They haven't confirmed that it's an [as] show yet, but I don't see it fitting anywhere else on the schedule but Adult Swim.

| #17 Posted on 13.11.03 1735.03 | Instant Rating: 5.07 | I liked Aeon Flux when it was just those quick little "micro-episodes" wherein the characters didn't speak, and the chick gets killed at the end of every one. When they turned it into a full-on series, however, I believe it lost a lot of its luster.
At least they're giving Bebop and Trigun a rest. As an insomniac, I'd end up watching those shows over and over again no matter how late they would show up in the line-up. That includes seeing them again in the replay. In related news, I need a new remote for my TV.
Also, I caught the episode of Home Movies on Monday, and I heard about the concealed pilot thing, but I could have sworn I had seen that episode before. Was there another one with a similar plot that I might be thinking of?
