I have to admit, I'm almost never lurking on here, but I really should spend some more time logged out because the choice of banner ads that have shown up here recently have been....kinda bizarre.

Mostly the Nexium ones, yeah. What's up with that?

Are we attracting the heartburn crowd? Is THAT the coveted demographic I've been seeking these past years?

(maybe!)

Maybe it isn't that you have been seeking the coveted heartburn demographic. They could be seeking you! The hunter has become the hunted...

There is also the possibility that the ads are left over from when you were posting whichever Lean Pocket you had chosen to consume for lunch. Perhaps they hadn't foreseen your switch to posting ties worn in lieu of food consumed.

Please do not direct link to one of the ads. This could be seen as encouraging fraudulent click through.

//edit: Feel free to comment about the ads, but don't post a link with "click here" with an ad in it that isn't served by Google. That will probably get us in trouble.

I know you meant well and had no bad intention, but Google probablly wouldn't see it that way and then we could lose our Adsense revenue. It's a violation of the TOS to encourage our users to click on ads or have any scheme that might result in fraudulent ad clicks.

Thanks for understanding and not being pissed at me for pointing this out!

Willful ignorance of science is not commendable. Refusing to learn the difference between a credible source and a shill is criminally stupid.

Have to love the Lesbian Dating ad. I think Lesbian Videos would make more sense.

This may be dumb, but in the case of something like this, would it be possible to allow registered users to enable ads? I still have fond memories of that awkward sitting blond chick pimping wireless cameras on the EZBoard, so I might not mind the occasional ad once in a while...

Sorry about that. Did not realize that that could be an issue.
