According to Fox (msn.foxsports.com), Anthony Thomas has signed a one year deal to be the Cowboys change of pace and third down back. We'll see if he can deal with Tuna, or if his career is pretty much over.

I don't get it...Thomas put up good numbers in the bit of playing time he had last year, and certainly looked better than Thomas Jones, who for whatever reason some people in the NFL still think is going to make it big. Employing him as a third down back is somewhat questionable, though, since he's more of a smashmouth style player.
Bah, A-Train was always a quite good player when running behind a line not demolished by injury. He's peformed well with every opportunity he's been given and there's no reason not to expect him to perform well again, as he is still quite young.
Personally, I find the Bears to be idiots for giving him up. They just got a good receiver to go along with Booker, and keeping the one running back that has proven himself would obviously have made too much sense. *sigh* Being a Chicago sports fan is so darn hard sometimes.

He's not done in the NFL. He rushes for almost 4 yards a carry, fumbles rarely, and had 1,000 yard seasons in two of his first three years.
Plus, he hasn't exactly played with a cavalcade of all-stars at QB: Jim Miller, Kordell Stewart, Chris Chandler, Rex Grossman, Jonathan Quinn, Craig Krenzel... these guys could barely thrive on an XFL team, let alone an NFL one.
He's hospitalized in serious condition but not life threatening. He was one of six people shot in a bar in Denver and innocent bystander as well. Big blow for Steelers. Hope he recovers from it. Edit: Suppose to be Joey Porter, not Jerry.
