I've seen some people talking about the point of having Flair/Batista dropping the belts to Booker/RVD on Raw, but it seems to make a lot of sense from what we know of the plans for 'Mania.

With Flair/Batista dropping the belts, it frees up Batista to team with Orton to take on Rock 'N Sock while leaving an option for the Tag Titles to actually be defended at 'Mania. It also gives Booker/RVD a match for the show, and opens up a slot for two others to challenge (probably Test/Steiner, if I had to guess).

And who knows? Maybe Booker and RVD can actually establish some charisma together as slightly more long-term tag team.

I think givin Booker and RVD the titles is a great idea. they had no other storyline for the 2 so might as well give them somethin they can work with. even if it is for a short time. u never know as said by Phantom, it could be long term. we never know.

I would have prefered Flair/Batista to hold said titles until Mania where RVD/Booker would challenge. So we'd have 25 days or so of a decent feud between the two teams, and Booker/RVD sounds like a good tag team.

But the titles would have gained more prestige if they stayed with Evolution into AND after Wrestlemania. I'd prefer titles to stick around the waists of champs to establish that whole idea of a title and its champions having some... I dunno... respect and worth?

I honestly believed Flair and Batista would still be champions after Wrestlemania so they could do the whole deal where everybody in Evolution kept their titles except HHH, leading to a breakup.

But if Booker T and RVD go into Wrestlemania as champs, here's to a 4-Way between the, Storm/Venis, Cade/Jindrak and.. uh... hmm... The Dudleyz, I suppose. Or La Resistance. I don't care, just looking for an excuse to put Storm/Venis in a tag team title match against face champs.

I would have prefered to see RVD or Booker get the IC title last week, and fued over that at 'mania, but I can see why they possibly went this way. This way one show's tag titles will be defended, and one show's secondary singles title will be up for grabs. I don't think they would have time for two secondary title defenses and two tag team title defenses. Now RVD and Booker can put up their newly won tag titles (possibly in a four way like mentioned before) and Show can, finally, drop that damn U.S. title.

Oh, and the Smackdown tag tiles can be defended on Heat, or just forgotten all together. I don't think anyone would be too sad if Rikishi and Scotty don't have a match on the big card. It's just too bad we'll have a second year in a row with no IC title match at Wrestlemania.

You do realize it's going to be a five-hour show, right? That's why we're seeing EVERYTHING get put on the card. HHH/HBK/Benoit, Kane/Taker, Evolution/RockNSock, Goldberg/Lesnar, Eddie/Angle, Cena/Show, Mysterio/Chavo, Jericho/Christian, Raw Divas vs. Smackdown, McMahon/Bischoff/Heyman...

Honestly, just the length of it has me worried. Can today's fans even sit through a five-hour pay-per-view?

Just throw on an old-timers' battle royal and we're good to go.

Anyone know if Tully Blanchard and Magnum T.A. are available? LOL...

This was once again a dumb decision, to have a title change a few weeks before the big show, giving it away on free tv again. What happened to the days where a tag team title change meant something? With 50% of Evolution going into WM as the champs, they would have at least a 3 month championship background (damned, this is a long time already nowadays), so a title change would mean a little more. Now it's most likely going to be some fatal 4-way again, where they throw in every guy they have no use for, just like the past years. What was the last 2 on 2 tag titles match at Wrestlemania? Oh yeah, Owen and Jeff Jarrett against Test and D'Lo Brown. And what a build-up that was. So where are the meaningful tag title matches?

As long as you keep Dusty away from the brake system in Magnum's car until then, he should be available.

I like the idea if they have a Fatal 4-way, RVD as the lax dude and Booker as the "in your face" intense one I think will work well....it has been shown that both guys shine comedy-wise if put in the right situations (I cracked up so hard when RVD interrupted Cena's interview at RR, that is how RVD should be used all the time)

As for the IC...I can see it being dropped to Christian or Y2J to add more to that match

Does it matter? I don't think they can claim a refund based on getting bored because the show was too long.

I love Ric Flair, but anything that will keep him out of the ring attire and in a suit works for me.

I thought I had read a while back that the five hour length to the PPV was supposed to include a whole bunch of history packages that will be sprinkled throughout the show, thus leaving far less than five full hours of just matches and interviews. And even if it is five full hours I just don't see them doing two secondary title matches and two tag team title matches. My guess would be that they will stick to one of each (raw tag team and U.S. title). If they were going to have Orton lose the IC title and have the belt involved in a different match I'm sure they would have gotten it off of him in that triple threat last week.

The only way I'd like to see the Smackdown tag titles involved is if it is the WGTT winning or defending them.

I'm curious to know WHY RVD and Booka-T scored the titles. I mean, they are indeed two wrestlers who had nothing to do. There was no previous history between the two.

While I like MOVEMENT and DEFENCE in any title department (I'm looking at you, BIG SHOW for the lack thereof), why take the titles off a strong heel team of Batista and Flair?

For that matter, we never saw a confrontation between an irate HHH and the rest of Evolution. However, I was hoping for an all losing 'Mania for HHH and co, though.

Storyline wise, I believe the move was made after the Evolution beatdown on RVD, Booker, and Foley at the end of the show last week.

Having the titles on Flair and Batista served it's purpose. They got their run of "Evolution has all the titles" but beyond that it didn't make much sense to give those two the titles in the first place. It might have been a cool tool to elevate a midcard face tag team, but since the Dudleyz lost the belts in December all the other regular teams have been basically ignored...have Jindrak/Storm, Hurricane/Rosey, or Storm/Venis been on Raw since then? The belts have just been used as props in tag team matches between upper card guys, matches that would have been put together and in the same spot on the card whether the belts were involved or not. At least now RVD and Booker have a purpose, a somewhat shallow one agreed, but it's more than either guy was doing two weeks ago.

I think Rob and Booker make good tag champs, though they need to establish some sort of chemistry together. I figure that all titles need to have new faces after a while, and Raw's tag division is woefully thin, so Rob and T could've been the next logical choices. Anyway, like people have mentioned, it frees up DAVE for the supposed tag match against Rock/Sock, although, DAVE has no place being there. If it has to be a tag match, then at least let Flair get in it. I would much rather prefer a non-title Orton/Foley streetfight. That may require Orton dropping the IC title to someone, maybe Jericho, to set off a Christian/Jericho fued or something. But I'm getting ahead of myself - lets let Rob and T carry the ball for a bit see what they can do with the tag titles.

I'm mostly thinking it may present a problem in terms of crowd heat. Hopefully the fans will still have something in the tank by the time they get to the final match.

Crowd heat will not be a problem.

Only the biggest of diehards will be in the building that night as ticket prices alone would have killed the chances of casual fans filling the building, not to mention the fact that tickets were so hard to get ahold of even if you were willing to shell out.

Even if they do put a handful of filler/"get guys on the card" matches out there, you'll still have a hot match out there more often than not. Sure, people might go for a piss during the Too Cool/APA/WGTT match, but as long as it's sandwiched between Orton/Foley and UT/Kane (or Eddie/Angle, or Jericho/Christian, for example) the crowd will be tuned in. Remember, it's New York City, not a fringe market. If there's something for them to be into, they'll be into it, no matter how long the show runs.

I haven't got the DVD yet but I plan on getting it. I just always like Pillman, it seem like he always busted his ass in the ring. And anyway I'm a early 90's WCW mark. I watched Halloween Havoc 92 on 24/7 last week and I still loved it.
