"Diamond Dallas Page and Sean "X-Pac" Waltman showed up at the New Japan Dojo in Los Angeles. Both were there to meet Joanie Laurer, who has now been nicknamed "the muscular witch", but Waltman made an angry demand to be let in New Japan. DDP obviously won't be going to New Japan because of his injury and subsequent retirement, but Waltman is a possibility because he has begun training at the dojo."
Looks like Rat-Boy Ogawa (NOAH fans will get the reference!) has some competition coming!

Please don't cry, Sean, I think you could have a great career jobbing to Buffy Bagwell in matches all across the U.S.

| #7 Posted on 13.9.02 0923.46 | Instant Rating: 4.52 | You know I can't resist a good X-Pac roast, so... He made an angry demand to be let into New Japan? Does that ever work? What's he saying, “Let me in or I'll wrestle for you right now?” God knows one of the worst threats Sean Waltman can make is threatening to wrestle. Ha! I kill me! [long sarcastic laugh] So he's going by the ring name Syxx-Pac now, huh? If he actually thought that an angry demand would work, he must have drunk a few syxx-pacs of beer before showing up for his meeting with New Japan. Oh, well... if his wrestling career fizzles, at least he can get a job on Animal Planet, playing the rare bandana-wearing grease rat. “Now put that thing back where it came from or so help me-- Oh, hey! | #10 Posted on 13.9.02 1908.51 | | I never understood the nastiness towards Xpac/Waltman/Syxx. I never got the feeling watching him that he was dogging it in the ring, or made his opponents look bad. Sure, he lost most of his credibility when he tried to cut a promo, but for being a small (barely 200lbs) guy, he always was able to suspend disbelief and look like he was a credible challenger to his heavyweight opponents - espcially in his program against Kane. I always believed between his speed and heel dick-ness that he could cheat-to-win, or find someway to get the upperhand. Sure, when he thought he was some street-hood-badass, I always rolled my eyes when he came out, but I certainly didn't get the impression that he had true "suck-heat" from the fans. As for my own problem with X-Pac, he always struck me as the American version of Ogawa. A guy who was indy material for years (curtain-jerker 4 LIFE), then hit the big time because some bigwig thought he made a decent cup of coffee. Well, in Waltman's case, rolled a mean joint...

| #13 Posted on 13.9.02 2250.38 | My only problem with 'Pac was that he was SO obviously trying to ride the coat tails of the Clique, being pushed even when he wasn't all that over (including his "not jobbing in singles matches"), and then he'd brag about how badass and over he is. I don't care how talented a worker, that will ALWAYS get on my nerves.

to you?
X-Pac can pull a good match out, like when he and Tajiri fought a few times about a year ago. However, he does seem to mail it in more often than not, recently. And he looks like some chump that thinks they're a badass, which I hate, but I guess that might be what he's going for.
He's fighting Sabu soon (if not tonight) at some indy show. I have a tape with the two of them from way back in the day, and it's a damn fine match. I wonder how they'll look now.
Oh yeah, here's the new face to watch out for in NJPW.

Hey, if Waltman wants to be demanding, then Inoki can tell him he's gotta beat Igor Vovchanchin at Inoki Bom-Ba-Ye '02 to get a spot with the company. Gives him a few months to prepare, which is more than Frye got to face LeBanner.

Gee, break out a couple basic moves (for cruisers anyway)and suddenly he can pull a good match out...? Tajiri and Kidman had to carry him during the whole Invasion thing. Heck, even Jerry Lynn did most of the work during their Global matches. |
