I read these at 411 (who got them from PWInsider) and thought that they were interesting pieces of news (that didn't merit seperate threads).

You know what, I've never seen the guy but I dare anyone to tell me that "Matt Bentley" isn't a better name that Mike Shane to use in wrestling in the first place.
With the right music and outfit, the "I'm better than the fans" gimmick writes itself just by his ring intro alone!

I don't think Matt Bentley is a bad name, but I do like Michael Shane better. First of all it is MICHAEL Shane which I think sounds better than Mike Shane. Second of all Michael Shane is related to Shawn Michaels, so I think the whole Michael Shane name was made up because it was close to Shawn Michaels, and in the back of our minds we'd always relate Michael Shane to Shawn Michaels.
Plus, regardless of which name is better, it's just never good to change someone's name after your familliar with them. Like "Irish" Pat Kinney.

Is there some kind of source on that? I can't imagine where a rumor like that even starts, regardless of truth. The only wrestling news I get is what's posted here, so I know nothing about it.
