It's been considered by some as one of the most entertaining yet underrated feuds in the then WWF. It involved a charismatic talker and an annoying (but sometimes engaging), and equally charismatic personality. While one of these combatants has been ridiculed on the net, in this feud, that person consistently proved to be entertaining each time out. I'm shocked that there wasn't one comp made of this already, so I'm asking you fellow wieners to help me out. What is this feud I'm speaking of?

Chris Jericho vs. Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley.

Don't laugh, I'm serious. I stumbled upon an old tape of a couple promos between them, and I have to admit, I was entertained all over again. Despite what negative things have been said about her, Steph's ham styled antics really added to the entertainment. Y2J just got lots of love for it. Lots of classic stuff between the two, that's for sure. If any of you wieners have the facilities (or know somebody who does), I'd LOVE to get a comp tape of all the Y2J-Stephanie interactions (From the very first one, all the way up to WM18). I'll pay postage and what not, but I'd really appreciate it if you can help me out. Thanks.

You know, I think Ringmistress has a pretty good point...those were pretty entertaining but I would have no idea where to find audiobytes or video of that storied saga. Try the underground search engines...Kazza, iMesh, WinMx, Limewire, bearshare, Morpheus.

The scary part is, being a fan of both Jericho and (perversely) Steffo, I might actually have most of the infamous skits somewhere. I definitely have the Planet of the Apes sketch and "Let the Boobies hit the floor."

The problem is that they are probably scattered across 20 tapes, which also are part of the train wreck known as "new home moving piles of crap."

I'd hate to say this, but if you gave me six weeks, I possibly could put something together.

Everyone talks about how they messed up HHH/Angle/Stephanie, but they messed that angle up even more. They had been building up the tension between Steph and Jericho for literally YEARS. For them to finally give in to the tension and become a couple would have been perfectly logical from a long-term storyline perspective. And it would have made Jericho even more of a heel, and HHH more of a sympathetic face. But they didn't go that way (and if the reason for that decision was because Steph & HHH are a real-life couple, then they need to realize that wrestling is a work.) The sucky thing was not even that the Jericho-HHH feud became about the Helmsley dog (the other thing everyone says). What REALLY sucked about it was that it was about that when it COULD have just as easily been about something really awesome and compelling that was seemingly sitting right under their noses for them to use. Oh well.

I think the same thing can almost be done with Kurt Angle. Every now and then when Kurt and Steph have a skit together, it seems they still try to show the "connection" between them that almost was.

That's what I was thinking! I even emailed the WWE asking if they could have Y2J and Steph HUG or something. Of course, I could go on and on about how they had something under their noses and blew it, but I'd be screwing up the bandwidth. Besides, it's already been said. Personally, I don't know why they didn't do the obvious, and figuring out why won't change the fact that I was pissed at what it turned out to be. Of course, there's a ton of stuff that was so obvious they royally F-ed up. I think about that every time I watch the show. It's just unjustifiable sometimes. But, that's just my take.

When i'm looking for some video of wrestling matches or interviews and things I try my newsgroup with binary downloading, if you ask they will usually post anything they have, but I don't know if you have access to any newsgroups.

Dude I agree with you So much here, I still can't believe how idiotic the HHH/Steph breakup was. A huge break up without adding a thrid party into it(Linda McMahon doesn't count). It's like they didn't want to share their spotlight with anyone else no matter what.

They did everything they can to make the WMX8 main event build fail... They should have had a lobby video footage of Steph & Jericho going into a hotel room dated months ago being shown when HHH & Steph renew their vows. It would have made

-Jericho- complete jerk hypocrite heel who talks trash about Steph and the same time shagging her in private. Would have made him a lot more hated.
-Steph- total b*tch who sleeps around when her husband is out with injury.
-HHH- A total sympathetic face, when he's out with rehabbing his injury his wife is shagging with a wrestler. And it's not even a shot on his manhood because he's out with an injury, he could do nothing about it.

Instead they have Triple H look like such a big man and outsmart everyone and be the one who breaks up with Stephanie and Jericho just gets sloppy seconds after HHH said he wants nothing to do with her. Why should I feel bad for HHH and cheer for him he already got over on Steph? And what did Jericho do that was so heel, he just took Steph to his corner after HHH said he doesn't want anything to do with her... No wonder they had to introduce Lucy the Dog and aftermath a gigantic failure of a WMX8 main event and a failed face run for HHH. (Not like he'd lose his spot no matter how many failed runs or angles he's involved with).

That just left such a bad taste in my mouth because an obvious long building storyline could have been great but seemed to be sabotaged because some seem to want to cut their nose to spit their face for whatever reason, and needs to always look like a "man's man" even if it takes away from a potential great angle or storyline

Okay, I'm agreeing with you there, but back to the topic at hand, I was looking around for a comp or somebody who could make me one. I appreciate the comment about Y2J and Steph's possibilities though, NetHackSlasher. I can't say I disagree with what you said, especially in retrospect. It's things like that which justifies me only hanging on because of the looks, hehehe.. As far as binary downloading through a newsgroup, I actually don't know of any newsgroups to answer that question

Got back from the taping a little while back. Nothing too unusual at the show, with the exception of Al Snow once again replacing Jim Cornette.
