First of all, if I remember correctly, there were many of you that bashed the WWE for putting Big Show over Brock at Survivor Series. "They've killed Brock's heat!!", they said. "He can't be the unstoppable monster anymore!!", they said.

Well, what do you think now? Are you ready for you serving of crow? Or would you like to just pretend that you never said anything and instead, sing the praises of the WWE for how well they've played this angle? Just curious...

You know, if they can give China reconstructive surgery to make her prettier (by comparison) then couldn't they do something to make Lesnar look less like an Opie?

I'm not upset at the angle. It is well played. I just wish it wasn't with the Big Show. This is a guy who before this "streak" won one or two matches a year. This is a guy who only recently quit smoking when management's been telling him to do it for years. This is a guy who got sent down to the minors to shape up and came back lazier than ever. This is a guy who can't go more than seven minutes without huffing and puffing. This is a guy with no mic skills.
This is a great program, but for the wrong person.

Really? They have put the belt on a man hated by marks and hated the internet crowd. Surely, this makes him the most over heel in the company at the minute since the majority of fans despise him and want to see him lose the belt in his next match.

i think the idea is that the Big Show has at least SOME credibility in that, despite his overwhelming crappiness, he is still really big, and is also a former world's champion. x-pac and bossman are neither of those things.

Keep in mind that some people actually LIKE the Big Show. I know it blows the minds of people every time I bring this up, but he is one of my favorite wrestlers. Every time Big Show gets a push, I enjoy it.

I'm sorry, I would rather watch Big Show than Chris Benoit. It all has to do with suspension of disbelief.

You can't tell me that watching one guy let another guy do a standing switch is more realistic than watching a huge bastard pummel someone until they are wiped out. Yes, from a wrestling standpoint, maybe the standing switch is prettier, but I can't realistically watch Angle and Benoit trade suplexes with the standing switch in the middle and think anything other than that they are letting each other get suplexed.

So - don't overstate *your opinion* as the opinion of *everyone*. I'm really enjoying this Brock / Show match-up.

Your analogy is similar to:

"They already have cars that you can drive, why not blenders?"
"I can already write with my hands, why not my pancreas?"
"They already have beef that I can eat, why not granite?"

Amen, Guru. I've been making the ol' "suspension of disbelief" argument as it concerns the Show for years...no-one listens! Simple fact is, Show will always be believable as a top guy thanks to the sheer size of the guy. And I, for one, am cool with that.

I'll agree with Guru...he's not all bad. I tend to enjoy the shows more if I watch them first and then come here.

My only complaint with Show is having followed him since WCW, he's well...gotten a little fat. I don't know how much of that is him, and how much is his medical condition though.

So long as he's not required to emote too much, I'm cool with having him on my screen.

Where I'll disagree is I'd rather see Angle or Benoit. The standing switch doesn't blow my mind so much (they could sell "fighting" the switch a little better though).

This storyline is following classic Hogan pre-PPV storylines of yore. Hogan would either get ambushed, or killed by the heel, ala King Kong Bundy, but come back to prevail in the end. And honestly, that's the story that your "marks" will like.

Honestly?...so will I...so long as I don't let myself get too jaded.

I, for one, am happy that the Big Show is finally being used like he should: as a monster. Let's face it, the guy is huge and should crush pretty much everyone he faces. Beating Lesnar is a step in the ring direction. It elevates Show to a more of a monster and allows Brock to get his heat back by beating the monster.

    UHHHHHHHHHHhhhhhh...

Being a fan of the Big Show is one thing. But how can you prefer to watch someone that just stands there and takes the f5 well because he's fat, over wrestling agility - mentally and physically. If Show had something to offer that Benoit didn't, like promo power, then I would understand your claim. Undertaker and Kane's choke slam is even better (at the very least, cleaner) than Show's. Show's signal for an oncoming chokeslam ownz though, I'd agree with that. His voice has this deep gritty thing going that is kind of neat. But I don't understand a preference to see the Big Show over Benoit. Big Show over 10-15 wrestlers before you get to Benoit.

I don't buy the suspension of disbelief with the Big Show. To me, 95% of the sequences in a Big Show match aren't realistic.

The guy's big, slow and fat. It'd take Lesnar or Angle a split second to dismantle him in real life.

Big Show getting a Main Event push is a slap in the face to that locker room. The guy came in with a massive ego and a lazy attitude. So much that he had to be sent to OVW. When's the last time they SENT someone to OVW?

He came back, as fat as ever, and proceeded to get push after push after push because he's big. I say big deal! The mystique of Big Show is gone when he wrestles. That's why I think the only Show push that ever worked was his first one in WCW.

I'm sorry, after watching MMA for years, its tough for me to suspend my disbelief that a 500 pound lard ass with bad knees is a physical threat. :)

Because some things can't be explained... And it shouldn't be a crime to prefer watching someone wrestle over someone else. Quite frankly I'd rather watch Disorderly Conduct before Edge and Rey Mysterio Jr. wrestle, but that's me!

I too prefer Big Show to Chris Benoit... I don't think Show is a better wrestler, and I won't even pretend he'll ever carry anyone to a *** match. That said, based on his size, the psychology is always there for him to be carried to a *** match with ease.

I bought Vengenace today on DVD, and the ONLY match I give a damn about on the whole card is Big Show vs. Booker T... I slept through it when my friends got it the first time around, so I hadn't seen it. The match was fantastic stuff - and watching Booker T have to pull EVERYTHING out of his ass to put the big man down was something else.

I only wish Shawn Michaels had gotten his hands on Big Show back in his prime. That would have been a classic.

I love great matches as much as anyone... But I always enjoy DIFFERENT things, and taking a look at the way the guys wrestle these days, the only guy who appears remotely different from the rest of the damn roster is Big Show. Everyone else wrestles a certain way. Big Show has continued to not learn the WWF main event style, and he's stayed true to his WCW roots. Yes, some of you may find it more boring, but once upon a time a lot of guys wrestled the same way Big Show does. Change is good, but when everyone changes and become wrestling clones, it's nice to see someone stand out from the pack.

But then, I'm a WCW fan... A place where being different wasn't frowned upon.

To me, Big Show's offense looks less threatening than a basket of kittens. His slaps are loud, but his punches and clotheslines look like they are thrown by Harvey Whippleman. Maybe if he wasn't so damn gingerly with his opponents I would buy him. Rikishi is a big guy and when he lays off the ass-fense, he looks like he is actually trying to hurt someone. I may complain about Undertaker, but he at least looks like he is trying to kick ass. Big Show's "clubbing blows" look like he is gently resting his arms on people. His ever impressive "lifts to the ring from outside" look like a mother rolling her kid into bed after falling asleep on the couch.

To those who love him, kudos. Hell, I love Crash Holly and keep wondering why WWE doesn't pick up a couple of those WOW girls. Opinions and assholes have been compared before (which I apply to myself as well as everyone else). I'm not stating the gospel truth here. Just that this one single viewer would have rather seen someone else in this role. If only they knew about signing BPP a little bit earlier. He has as many problems as Big Show, but at least his very craziness is guaranteed entertainment.

Big Show must feel like most of us do when wrestling with some kids. You have to be real careful when you are that much bigger than someone. Sure his offence looks weak but if he got any stiffer they wouldn't have enough people on the roster to tape an episode of Heat.

Amen to that!

It's not that I think that Edge and Rey are bad, but Disorderly Conduct are something FUN and DIFFERENT from the same ol' Edge and Rey stuff that we see from EVERY WWE SUPERSTAR.

And I think that anyone who can't stand the Big Show on the simple fact because he doesn't wrestle like anyone else should... ... you know, there's no nice way to end that sentence as far as I'm concerned.

Well, I dislike The Big Show because he can't wrestle well, isn't charismatic and is in horrible physical shape.

Having said that, I'm also a firm believer that WWE needs to have a diverse roster to be entertaining. Kurt Angle and Chris Benoit are there to wow us with their superb technical wrestling. Rey Mysterio, Billy Kidman and The Hurricane fly through the air. Booker T, for example, has a very unique moveset, as well as the Spinarooni.

And then there are the big guys, who lumber around the ring. Sure, anyone save Mark Henry could run circles around The Big Show, but the psychology is that Big Show's so damned big that he's very difficult to get down. If you get him down on his stomach, terrific, but you've got to bust out everything you can to get him down.

But on the flip side of the coin... I simply don't buy The Big Show as a main-eventer because he's been jobbing to every Tom, Dick and Harry in the WWF/E since WrestleMania 2000. Big Show shouldn't have been able to squash Three Minute Warning in a triple-handicap match, get traded to SmackDown and immediately get put into a WWE Championship program with Brock Lesnar (let alone actually win the title) without any sort of buildup. Yeah, he's big enough, but you can't go from months of jobbing to becoming the first guy to beat Brock Lesnar. It simply isn't credible to me. I don't necessarily mind pushing The Big Show to the title, but it should have been a slower burn than it was. They should've let him build some sort of winning streak beforehand.

I've got to go with Guru here. I've been a fan of Show's since he started in WCW. I admit I ahve been disappointed in him in recent years. Is he quick? Hell, no. Is he muscular like HHH? Hell, no. Does anyone do a better chokeslam? Hell, no. This feud with Brock is growing on me. It just proves what JR has been saying. When Show is focused, he can be a top guy. Look like he's focused to me.
