|  #1 Posted on 6.10.04 1752.17 | Instant Rating: 5.19 | Don't know if any other markets are doing this, but a crappy Denver ClearChannel station is running a "pick the playlist" gimmick this week. It's a half-rock, half-classic rock station. In the old days, I suppose you'd call it an "AOR station".
They're (supposedly) running through all of their songs, alphabetically by song title, and allowing visitors to their website to rate them. The gimmick is only active from 9-5 pm Mountain Time. You can rate the last 10 songs they've played. The list is updated, so you can drop by every so often and rate different songs.
They require you to log-in and create a profile. However, they don't send a validation email, so you can enter a bogus email address. The security's not too tight on the site, so I'm sure someone with too much free time could crack their log-in "security".
Anyways, it's fun to jump on there to slam Metallica and Beastie Boys. Two bands that they've played almost non-stop since 1992. It's also funny to see how people are acually giving favorable scores to stuff like Tesla's "Love Song" and Danger Danger's "Naughty Naughty". It's a fairly awful station, but it's fun to mess with them. Since you can enter a bogus email, you don't have to worry about falling into some EVIL ClearChannel mailing list, either.

WMMR actually has Dee Snider on the radio at nights too which is just weird.

Not sure I'd say it's weird... he did get jobbed by WMRQ if you ask me. (Then again, considering nowadays it's Power 104, yet ANOTHER hip-hop station...)
