It appears Dick LeBeau is claiming the Bengals will beat the Texans next week. I don't think there's much to say--except LeBeau is quite the optimist.

I wonder: if they win, will they convince Cincy to reconsider the "competitive" lawsuit? ;)

I honestly don't know what's worse:

That a NFL coach actually has to vow to beat a hapless expansion team.

Or that we actually have reason to question his team's ability to do it.

I should have listened to spf2119 about HHH because he is the smartest Wiener around.

Since everyone else is doing it (ok, not EVERYONE, but...)

Vikings (2-5) - It's time to sweep! 11-5 baby! (Okay, maybe not.)
Badgers (6-3) - Well, we won one. Thanks for playing poorly Michigan State!
Buffy 7.5 earns a 9 out of 10 because Anya is really damn cool this season. The flashbacks were funny (another musical, Joss?). The continuity from past seasons was tremendous, and just about everything else clicked for me. Plus! Barely any Dawn!

The really scary thing: Even if the Bungles pull off the upset, the Texans will still have a better record. I can just see every top flight junior in college football reconsidering going out, and some seniors looking for phantom redshirt years.

I want you to know, I agree with everything I've just said.

i still say that the Bungles are getting no love in the BCS, they should be at least 15 in the polls
it's a no win situation for them

lose, and well, no biggie, it's the bungles.

win, and well, it's kinda expected to beat a 1st year expansion team.

Word around my neck of the woods (Huntington, WV area) is if the Bungles get the first pick and take Byron Leftwich, he will go to to the CFL before playing in Cincy. Now thats when you know you have hit ROCK bottom, when guys will give up millions to go play in the CFL instead of with you.

Let's just say that in my confidence pool this week, I did not take the advice of Mr. LeBeau, and that there's a decently high number for that game. And may I just point out there's few more discomforting feelings in the world than realizing your confidence pool hinges on an expansion. I hate the NFL sometimes ;)

Even money says Dillon runs for 250 and the Bungles still find a way to lose 37-14.

didn't Jim Kelly do something just like that, but instead of CFL it was Arena league? and when that failed he finally reported to the Bills?

Kelly played in the old USFL (summer football league, I don't get it either), not Arena football.

The Arena League wasn't even in existance when Kelly came out of college.

TONS of guys skipped the NFL for the USFL back in the day. The USFL was shelling out big dough forto compete with the NFL over guys like Kelly ,Flutie, Reggie White, Steve Young, Hershel Walker, etc., as it was a viable alternative for guys to A) make big bucks and B) not have to play on crappy NFL teams. Of course shelling out all that dough was one of about a GAZILLION reasons why the league went under.

Check out a USFL game on ESPN Classic sometime. You'll see lots of marquee names.

Back to the Bungholes - I'm told LeBeau was kinda quoted out of contest on the guarantee. That said, NOOO member of the Bugholes managerial force gets any sympathy with me.

When will the NFL step in and force changes in their front office? It seems like the Bungholes are on a mission to debunk the Tagliabue parity myth.

When they lose their lease because they're breaching their contract.

They're both equally bad. The Beagles actually showed some life last week. Of course, it was against the Titans, the most overrated team in the NFL.
The Texans are going to get David Carr killed. He's been sacked 44 times already this season.

If they do, it won't be this week.

Hey, remember when people said the Texans' strength was their offensive line?

Somehow I think we'd be much better off if we just rid the USA of Jim Rome instead. I've had bouts of diarrhea that were more entertaining than listening to that pompous blowhard spout off his garbage.
