Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Terrell Owens was fined $35,000 by the National Football League on Monday for spitting on Atlanta Falcons cornerback DeAngelo Hall, the largest fine ever levied for such an act.

How long before the players union files a complaint about the stiffness of the fine?

Appearantly there's no footage or photodocumentation of the act happening.

DeAngelo Hall spoke about it, then Owens was bright enough to 'fess up, rationalizing why you'd spit one somebody (aside from, y'know, flagrant disrespect).

$35k is probably seen as just a drop in the bucket to Owens. Maybe he should ask Randall Cunningham what he did after his first retirement...

Hold nothing sacred and you'll never be dissapointed. Especially not this statement.

T.O. admitted to spitting on him right after the game then later gave his "explanation" after they could not find any video evidence.

Every team that loses a free agent gets a compensatory pick based on their performance the following season. Generally the picks are anywhere from the end of the 4th to the 7th rouond. It will probably end up being a pick after the 2nd round.
