1984, most of you were probably just born, I was 8 years old; This was the year I discovered professional wrestling.

In this year Ric Flair and Hulk Hogan were the world champions. VKM and David Crockett were only television announcers at this time. Shawn Micheals was not a "Show Stopper", Bret Hart was not the "Best there ...", and Bruno Sammartino was an old man that I had no respect for in the ring. It is Bruno that I want to focus on at this point.

Bruno to me is an old man, with a belly and gray hair that had no charisma as a wrestler and even less as an announcer. The only thing that seemed interesting about Bruno is his constant arguments with Jesse Ventura.

Now being an old wrestling fan (age 28) I find myself thinking of the fans born in 1995 who now witness Ric Flair.

Ric Flair was the greatest wrestler that I personally saw in person or on television, and I am a die hard Hulkamaniac! The love of the sport and power of his in ring ability over came fans and no matter how much we hated him, we had to cheer. The styling and profiling, the rides on space mountain, and the leader of the most famous group in professional wrestling, Ric Flair was all of this, but now I, like Orton, pity Ric Flair.

He needs to step down as a pro wrestler. Tonight when he spoke, I closed my eyes, and in his voice I saw the Flair from 1986, confident and dominating, but then I opened my eyes, and saw my Sammartino. I did not see a dominating world champion I saw an old man that is getting out of shape and just should not be in the ring.

A lot of you may have watched the Flair DVD for the first time and said "Wow, that is great wrestling back then!" I watched that stuff when I was growing up. I saw Clash of Champions one live, because my Mom would not pay for the WWF pay per view. I watched Flair take the UWFguy to a 45 minute time limit, it was amazing. Ric Flair was awesome! My uncle got thrown out of Norfolk Scope for throwing a beer bottle at Flair during a match against Ricky Morton at my first live match, that was passion (and alcohol) in the fan. Ric Flair was the sport.

To any fan in this day and age I beg you to buy every WWE dvd of the old days and understand why HBK, HHH, and CCC are the men they are and becoming today. The wrestlers that came before you, deserve respect, and Ric Flair most of all, please do not let him become my Bruno Sammartino.

"... Just kidding, there is no carpet."

Exactly what I said on Lord Zoltan's Facebook. Its sad but also tells you exactly what kind of people they are. Not necessarily bad but... getting in trouble with law isn't good for the most part.
