You know, years of watching Justice League should have taught me that if you have a character that appears SO unappealing on the surface, there HAS to be a twist to make that character more appealing. Hawkgirl was a seemingly mundane addition, made more interesting by her characterization as a Thanagarian spy/Green Lantern love interest.

So a decade later, we have Artemis, a character so seemingly uninteresting that people mistook her as a substitution for Wonder Girl. (No, she looks to be a substitution for Mia Dearden, though I suppose since she hasn't been named, it could still turn out to be Mia.) So what do you do with Artemis?

You make her into a potential spy.

And yeah, it totally works. I'm all in on this mystery. There's a reason that Green Arrow is covering her with the "niece" label and there's definitely a past with her and Cheshire. The first few episodes have been a nice romp, but now it looks like we're about to get some depth.

Thumbs up on this episode for me.

I liked it even though I get tired of the cocky newbie character that seems to be inserted in every ensemble show. Raz seemed a bit on the fat side and I thought it was Talia not Cheshire, but whatever. Also, what was up with the Spiderman due? Regardless, I like the fact there is a "traitor" in the group, I am thinking its Martian Girl since it would be so out of nowhere. I am really enjoying this show.

According to, that wasn't Ra's, that was the Sensei. Which is actually what I thought when I was watching it, because that guy just wasn't intimidating enough to be Ra's. Artemis is alright, but I agree that it would be much more interesting if the traitor was someone else, either Miss Martian or Red Arrow. Also, anyone want to place bets on Artemis's real identity? I'm thinking Cassandra Cain.

I actually read the 40 or so issues of Young Justice last night, and I wish i could have watched that as a cartoon than this version.

I haven't watched this ep, but the Sensei used to the be the head of the League of Assassins. He's the one that had the original Batwoman killed.
