I haven't seen anything posted on this yet, but with a ppv, Survivor and everyones favorite television family getting back together maybe no one was out seeking the truth. This was the first episode I've watched in about a year and a half. Last I saw Scully and Terminator 2000 were running around chasing Mulder who had been *abducted*. I never found out if he was or not, but apparently he wasn't. The Lone Gunmen also appear to have died somewhere along the line.

A couple things about tht final episode. Was this the first time Mulder and Scully got it on?

Why did their superior who lead the court case suddenly go out of character and decide to help Mulder escape?

Nice to see the smoking man since all the other foes are dead. The show was really missing an alive Alex Krichek.

Looks like they're set up for a possible movie, although I don't know if any of them are allowed back in the F.B.I. after this. I was kind of hoping that the truth would never be revealed. I would have liked to see the government come out on top and silence Mulder, Scully, Skinner, T-2000. It wouldn't have been a happy ending, but it would have made sense to me.

Take note Carter, this is why no one cared about the X-Files anymore.

Man... it really was lackluster. I was so excited to see the CSM alive and smoking through a hole in his throat, but I thought he was way out of character in this episode. He was always an interested party, never a puppet master. Sure, he played mind game with Mulder, but he always had something to gain. He was part of the syndicate, and he was playing the game for his survival. The whole speech about his power being Mulder's lack of power seemed out of character, to me. And now he's dead, and Carter wants to make another movie. Fuck that, man.

I loved that show, as many of you probably did, for its first like 5 or 6 seasons, but prior to the finale I hadn't watched in years. The things that threw me were: Cancerman shot Spender in the face? good grief. And Scully gave her kid up to be adopted... to protect it? Becase the adopted family won't notice that the baby has psychic powers? And where the hell did he get those powers, anyway? The Alien Bounty hunters didnt have them, and neither did those super soldiers.

And, Johnny, I don't think it's the lack of resolution that turned people off. Not me, anyway. It was the BAD resolutions. I almost vomited when we discovered Samantha Mulder is a ghost. A freaking ghost. What a cop out ending. The X-Files equivalent of the Angle/HHH/Stephanie debacle. A great angle that fizzled into crap.
