Here is his farewell blog:

I've caught his blog from time to time when I remembered to and he seems to be a genuine fan of the sport and I hope he will be a good fit.

Now, as this news gets around, I wonder how many more blogs will flood the net with hopes of getting the attention of WWE and/or TNA.

The difference between this guy and the rest is that at least he is was already in the business.

I began working at The Sun as a part-time editorial assistant in the Sports department in 1986 when I was a 19-year-old college student. I went on to spend 13 years there before leaving to become the editor of WCW Magazine. After WWE bought WCW and I lost that gig as a result, I was fortunate enough to return to The Sun in 2002. That adds up to a total of 22 years that I have been at The Sun – literally half my life.

This will lead to fan fiction where Eck is the one sane man trying to convince the bosses (Vince, Dunn, HHH) that their golden boy (Orton) is talentless. It may or may not be heavily inspired by the fifth season of The Wire.

    Oh, really?

They recently added another layer or two of bueracracy to the team. I don't know how anyone can get excited to join the writing team give its current structure.

The WWE is hiring bloggers now?

Time for Zed to start writing again. Wait... that might explain his Jersey Shore write up. Interesting.

Congrats to Eck. But unlike a lot of bloggers who just make up stuff or sit behind a computer, he has wrestling promotion experience behind him also.

Eck was the best, and I hope he does with the WWE.

Interesting considering they have avoided anyone with wrestling experience like the plague since Stephanie took over.

I'd imagine that all across the country, wrestling bloggers are shaking their fists at being passed over.

    Coherent sentence structure.

The newspapers have editors to make that sort of thing happen.

So did The New York Times. Kinda whiffed on that Jayson Blair kid.

Yeah, I mean he might have 22 years of experience, sure... but I blogged about how much I like Sin Cara that one time.

I'm not saying editors make sure things are right. Just coherent sounding. Blair's articles were full of lies, but nary a split infinitive to be found.

(I don't really know if that's true. Maybe a participle is flagrantly dangling in each story of his.)

No. It's not. But it's interesting to note that the Chicago Sun-Times will apparently pay people to make up complete bullshit. (Not that they're alone in doing so).

You didn't read... well, anything:

The official's argument is that if Cena beats Rock, the WrestleMania crowd and audience at home will hate the finish--especially in Rock's hometown Miami, FL. If Rock beats Cena, the fans go home happy, but then WWE's top full-time babyface is cast as a heel and beaten by essentially a part-time, recently-out-of-retirement wrestler.

Well, this is the kind of thing they should have thought about before they booked the freakin' match in the first place. Now that it's booked, people will shit all over WWE if the match doesn't take place.

Besides, Cena doesn't have to play the heel any more than he did in Chicago with CM Punk, or at One Night Stand against RVD.
