At the SmackDown tapings tonight, Brock was distracted by Team Angle, and was quickly rolled-up by Angle for the pin. It looks as if Angle will be holding off his surgery, and indeed face Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania!!!

Also announced was Team Angle v. Los Guerreros v. Benoit/Rhyno at WrestleMania. And, Kidman turned heel on Rey Misterio.

Now, how about a match for RVD at 'Mania? I swear to Christ, if he's left off the card, I'll do... um, something bad... Well, I'll be PISSED OFF, that's for damn sure!!!!

Why??? Is that supposed to be important? Please don't tell me they are going to throw Kidman into the Mysterio-Mattitude WrestleMania match.

I look for RVD to be teaming with Kane in a Tag Title match. Maybe one of them will turn on the other at WrestleMania to set up a Backlash match between them.

I just realized this makes Kurt the second person EVER to pin Brock. Of course, both Brock`s pinfall losses were screwjobs, but still, that is an important fact.

I hope Angle knows what he's doing with the neck injury.

You know, if this whole Angle neck injury thing turned out to be a work on the WWE's part, I wonder if the IWC will be pissed off at the WWE for making them look like idiots or if they'll just be greatful that their olympic hero is really okay.

I'd be grateful, but I doubt that's the route they are doing.

With that said, I'm half excited/half scared about the main event. I just don't want Angle to end his career over one match. However, if anyone one could pull it off, it'd be Kurt.

Benoit was able to make it through a few matches with his injury, including TLC and King of the Ring. I'm guessing Kurt's gutting it out. I'm somewhat disappointed, because I don't like how they've made Angle the lame duck champion. Hopefully in 2004, they'll get it right.

Kurt completing the story arc the way it should be done is a Hell of a lot less "lame duck" than having him end his title reign through injury.

I totally commend Kurt Angle for having the guts of a Viking warrior, and I congratulate the WWF on making the best decision it could have made. If Kurt could take bumps to the neck last week in that cage, he damned sure can defend that title at the big show.

Glory, glory, hallelujah.
Madman: How is Kurt a lame duck in the eyes of the sheep? Last I checked, they don't have a clue that Angle is injured...

When did the WWE ever even ADMIT that Angle was injured? I think they danced around the issue on Byte This, but other than that, its all been through Internet reports.
Having said that, I'm sure it wasn't a work at all ... sounds like Angle made the decision, that with proper rest, he can work one match....

Well, I just hope he knows what he's doing. Still, Benoit eeked out a couple more matches before he went into surgery, maybe that's what Kurt's doing. IF that's the case I wish him all the luck in the world.

from wrestling exposed.com

Before last nights tapings, Angle had said he wanted to get the surgery out of the way and be back as soon as possible.

Apparently all those plans have been set aside and the Angle vs. Lesnar match at Wrestlemania will indeed take place.

Last night at the SmackDown! tapings, Angle was able to pin Lesnar in a non title match with the help of his brother, Eric Angle. Several minutes into the match, Kurt Angle popped out from under the ring and rolled up Lesnar for the 1,2,3.

Chris Benoit, who had originally been proposed to take Angles place in the match will now team with Rhyno to face the Los Guerrero's and Team Angle for the WWE Tag Team titles.

It was only decided backstage before last nights tapings that Angle would actually go through with the match at Wrestlemania.

Which means that:

a) We do indeed have Kurt Angle goodness in the WM main event.

and b) Somebody on the Smackdown writing team is stealing Quezzy's ideas (Team Angle idea thread). You should sue them for breach of copyright son.

Yes, but constantly having Brock beat the crap out of him, his stable, his manager, his dog, his next door neighbors, and his high school girlfriend, makes him a lame duck. Done right, his 2004 comeback will make him a huge babyface. During the time, they could turn Brock into a monster heel. Then is the time to really concentrate on Brock-v-Angle. Right now, it's a throwaway match with at least 2 matches being pushed ahead of it.
