I know what your saying, not another 'Mania thread, but hopefully this will be a little unique.

I haven't seen this anywhere but has does anyone thought what the order of matches will be. This is tough seeing as there are so many high profile matches. But here's my guess.

US title
Y2J/Christian
Cruiser open
Raw Tag titles
Womens title
Smackdown Tag titles
Rock n Sock v. Evolution
Undertaker/Kane
WWE Title
Playboy evening gown match(for crowd relief like X8)
Goldberg/Lesnar
World Title

Also what do you guys think the staging will be. I suspect the SSEries 02 screens will be brought back for the entrance. It seems like there will be all black ropes, but i hope they mix it up a bit with maybe black, white, black ropes, along the lines of the black, yellow, black ropes at WMX.

What do you think the buyrate for this will be. WWE are hoping for a 1 million but i doubt it. X7 got around 950,000, X8 got about 850,000 and XIX got about 550,000. I suspect a 750,000 for this one. What do you guys think.

I also have some questions reguarding pat WrestleManias. Like at WM2000, what was the deal with Tim White stopping the count at the end of he Hardcore time limit match?

What was the deal with Taker not lifting Flair up for the last ride and going for the tombstone at X8. Looked like it wasen't planned.

Why was the 10-man tag cut from WMX. They went too long on the show?

What was the deal with the Piper/Goldust chase at WMXII with the OJ footage?

I am pretty sure Bigalow/Taylor main evented WMXI. Can someone confirm this for me.

That's all I can think of. Feel free to add any alternative thoughts or questins, answers. 'Mania games and stuff like that.

I have NO clue about the match order. It could go about a million different ways. My guess:

Cruiserweight Open
RAW Tag Titles
US Title
Womens title
Smackdown Tag titles
Y2J/Christian
Goldberg/Lesnar
Kane/Undertaker
Evening Gown Match
WWE Title
World Title

I'm probably WAY off there, though.

No clue how they're gonna' work the staging, as MSG is much different than a normal arena. Probably, like you said, something similar to Survivor Series '02.

Ropes: All black

Buyrate: Somewhere between X8 and XIX

Tim White stopped the count because the bell was supposed to ring right before the three-count. They were off-time by a second or so, so it all looked horrible.

Don't know about the 'Taker situation. However, I believe he's ended ALL of his WM matches with the tombstone (except for the Giant Gonzales match, but that's another story).

WM X was going too long, and the 10-man match was expendable, so they delayed it until the next night's RAW.

The OJ footage in the Piper/Goldust match at WM XII was just a joke that ended up not being very funny.

Bigelow/Taylor did main-event WrestleMania XI.

I bet HHH will want the World title match to be about midway through the card, right before UT since I imagine the crowd is going to go apeshit for the deadman. No one (legitimate) should have to follow the deadman's return so put in the evening gown match. And I was under the impression that Goldberg/Lesnar was going to "main".

Dawg, you bring up a good point with the Undertaker match, but they will have one of the two World title matches in the main event slot. Those are the two matches that have the most at stake, and the better build up. The Lesnar/Goldberg feat. SCSA match has two of the three participants promoting it, and only one of those two is actually wrestling. If they put that on last, it'll be the most anti-climatic WM ending since LT/BBB.

I think the buyrate will be worse than last year's, to be honest. The promotion for this event has been awful and the last week of TV was dreadful. It will get a certain number of buys just for being Wrestlemania, but it being the 20th anniversary and being in MSG I don't think is going to convince someone to plop down the 50 or 60 bucks or whatever perverse sum they're charging for it.

He beat HHH at WM17 with the last ride, and he beat King King Bundy at WM11 with a flying clothesline. Yes, that's right, a flying clothesline.

I'd presume either of the world title bouts to go last, and their placement will tell us a hint to the booking. Obviously the show has to end on an up note, so if Eddie/Angle goes last we know for sure that Eddie is winning, and if the Triple Threat goes last, we know for sure that Triple H is losing. Not even Vince is shortsighted enough to push his heel son-in-law to put an unhappy ending on the show.

Wha-huh?! This has been the best built show in years, even if it's not matches you personally don't want to see. The card is definitely stronger, too, and the television has been much more consistently watchable than the pre-show run for the last two WMs. If WMXX gets a lower buyrate, then it's nothing to do with WWE's build and prmotion of the event. And I really don'tt hink the money issue is going to be as big a factor as most are making it out-it's only ten bucks more expensive than the previous Manias!

Omega & Dawg -- I can tell you're both really about the Rock-n-Sock vs Evolution match. :-)

I was thinking about this the other day, & came up with almost the same order as Omega:
-- Cruisers
-- Raw Tag Team
-- BigShow/Cena
-- Victoria/Molly
-- Undertaker/Kane
-- SD Tag Team
-- evening gown (intermission)
-- Jericho/Christian
-- Lesnar/Goldberg/Austin
-- Foley/Rock // Evolution
-- (Hall of Fame intermission)
-- Guerrero/Angle
-- HHH/Michaels/Benoit

Naturally that all is contingent on any "suprises" that Vince may have anywhere along the line. (And, since I'm terrible at predictions, it's almost guaranteed to be wrong.)

BTW, thanks to Freeway420 for his excellent summary here (The W).

What? The Benoit/HHH/HBK hasn't gotten one WM Main Event worthy pop for anything they've done. Probably because it's awkward and confusing. Eddy/Angle has been well-handled, but the tag title matches are throwaway messes, Jericho/Christian has absolutely nothing anyone can invest in*, Goldberg hasn't been on TV for a month and he's in the only match people (in terms of live event reactions) seem really into. So yes, Rock/Sock V.S. Evolution and Angle/Eddy were well hyped but I just haven't spoken to anyone who is stoked about this show.

*Now I realize everyone around here loveslovesloves the Jericho/Trish thing, but that doesn't mean this feud is hot. First of all, last I heard Jericho wants to give Trish a rose. Christian gets it, give it to her instead. Jericho is hurt by Kane so he can't do anything about it. While he's gone, Christian faces Trish in a match and promises to lay down, and instead, beats her senseless to "help his friend". Jericho comes back and beats him up and Christian runs away. Sorry, but game over. Jericho already got his revenge. What more does he need to prove? What they should have done is have Jericho make his return at Wrestlemania. And when did Trish become his girlfriend, as she is now commonly referred?

"(very long HMD quote)"

I've seen a lot more anticipation around here alone than I can remember for any recent show. Christ, look at the sheer volume of threads about it!Rock'n'Sock/Evolution is hot, Eddie/Angle is hot, Brock/Goldberg will be hot simply because of Austin's involvement, Cena/Show is hot, Taker/Kane is hot (unless the crowd popping crazily at every gong is my imagination), the Triple Threat will be a good match and will get a good crowd reaction, and Jericho/Christian is hot. Jericho hit Christian a few times and Christian bailed. How is that "his revenge"? That's like saying as soon as a face gets a few licks in and/or the upper hand in confrontation the feud is over. Why bother having the handicap match? Rock and Foley already ran Evolution off two weeks ago!

I can understand you not digging this show, but to say it's looking worse than the previous two going in is just silly. WMX8 had Hogan/Rock and nothing else. Last year had the two tentpole workrate matches of Jericho/Michaels and Brock/Angle, neither of which were particularly heated feuds, and the markfes tof McMahon/Hogan. This one, almost entirely across the board, has had build. Every match has had some kind of significant TV time devoted to pushing it, which is more than can be said for the past two-X8 in particular.

I'll say lower buyrate for this Mania (as Linda, yet again, is well off on her Million Buys prediction for a second consecutive year). I'll go with about 525,000 buys. Lower ratings heading into this year's Mania + Soprano's going head to head + people filling out NCAA Tourney brackets hurts Mania, as last year it was after the second round games of the NCAA Tourney and no new Soprano episode. Plus, since it was Wall-to-Wall war coverage last year, they might have gotten people due to no other real alternative/break from reality philosophy.
As for match order, it probably ends with Austin double-stunnering the match participants and him drinking beers in the middle of the ring with Jim Ross having an orgasm as they go off the air.

Seeing the layout of MSG, i wonder if there gonna capitalize on seating by using a tunnel, but my gut instinct tells me since Taker intro is gonna incredibly huge, i can see it being a Huge stage

And i think the Triple Threat will be the Main event, because i think they've been playing the Plot the most, seeing as how its been going since just after RR, and angle and Eddie has been going directly since after No way out, but indirectly since the whole Eddie vs Chavo deal

I love InYourMouth's ending to the World Title match.

My philosophy is, I don't expect Benoit to win it, but I'll be jumpin' like a fuckin' madman if he does win it. So if Benoit wins the belt and you hear a news report about an 8.5 earthquake in Indiana... sorry, that was me.
