With the massive weekend this just had in the US, I'm kinda surprised there's no thread for it yet.
In short, it's pretty brillaint and a strong contender for Best Animated Feature at the Oscars. I'm still partial to Brave myself, but Wreck-It Ralph does some very impressive things. Not the least of which is finally delivering a satisfying video game steeped movie. It's not a perfect film, but it's a helluva lot of fun.
Here's my spoiler-free review (despite it not seeing a UK release until bloody February) at londonfilmfanatiq.com.

This Pixar fanboy votes Wreck-It Ralph, which was the most impressive thing Disney has done in forever. Coupled with the awesome short beforehand, I enjoyed it much more than expected and definitely more than Brave (which was good.) Of course, having John Lasseter's name literally on the production makes a big difference; Disney is now in good hands.

Actually, they did make up a few. They might not be in every theater, but the Atomic Arcade in Salt Lake City had one for about a week.
I wasn't happy with the movie. As heavily as it was promoted with the retro theme, most of it was played out in the fictional girly "Sugar Rush". I thought there were more food references than games.
I realized this was a kids movie going in, but I guess not to this level.
I get what you are saying. I would have preferred to go inside nothing but actual games. I'm guessing that would have required more royalties. Also it would have been hard to work into the script. If you don't have Sugar Rush, how do you have Venelope?
