In the interests of being frugal, if not always healthy, I've been bring my own lunch to work (saving about $80/month).

Today I tried Banquet's "Cheesy Macaroni & Beef". I wouldn't give this to my worst enemy. Simply stomach churning.

So what's your tale of culinary woe?

Frozen sausage & biscuit sandwiches. The sausage was a weird mix of molten grease and frozen meat. The biscuit crumbled like dust in my hands. After that thing I've never even thought about trying any other frozen packaged food.

I don't really like any of the ones with beef (I don't mean ground beef, but any of the ones with actual pieces of beef). It's always super tough and fatty.

Just had a Lean Cuisine Bacon Alfredo Pizza, and I thought it was disgusting. I have almost no ability to stop myself from eating food should it be lying around (hence why I need to try to stick to small portions), but this thing was so bad that I couldn't even finish it.

Now, doing a google search I see that not everyone agrees with me, so I guess it depends how much you like spinach, tomatoes, and alfredo sauce. And I guess I must not like them very much.

And with any TV dinner that has mashed potatoes, the mashed potatoes always turn out disgusting.

Had the the Banquet Cheesy Macaroni and Beef before, and I didn't really care for that either.

Anything by Banquet is appallingly bad, and in most cases has actually made me ill.

They haven't made me ill, but considering my supermarket usually has them for $1 each, you really do get what you pay for.

I haven't found one that I ever liked. They were all bland, too salty, and some were bland AND salty. That takes skill.

Since I now cook 71% of my meals from scratch, ALL frozen meals taste vile but Banquet really takes vile to the next level.

If it says HungryMan on it, I won't touch it, I made the mistake once, forgot, and proceeded to make the mistake again, remembering during the course of trying to chew the rubbery chicken or whatever it was, that this stuff was pretty terrible.

However, Marie Callenders frozen stuff is usually pretty decent.

If you ever see a frozen entree with the words 'South Beach' on it, back away. I go my hands on a package of South Beach Wraps, or no carb burritos, a couple years back when the whole South Beach thing first got big. Expensive, but they looked so damned tasty. It had the consistency and flavor of cardboard stuffed with mud and half digested chicken. Should've known better.

Also, while the Totino's Party Pizza's really aren't that special, any and all generic versions of the product you see would be wisely avoided.

Frozen breaded chicken patties make me churn.

The Hungry Man "All Day Breakfast". It's just as awful as this article says it is.

I mostly bought it out of morbid curiosity...

On-Cor "Family Size" Turkey and Gravy.

It's 3 oz. of "turkey" and 2 lbs of gravy.

Hungryman made some sorta burrito meal a few years ago - and it tasted as though it was made of shaved metal or something.

It was also very spicy hot but without any flavour. Ass nasty!

Agreed. We got a few of those "Super XL" meals last year that were advertized as being one lb. of food - the ones with chicken fingers and cheese fries. The "one lb." part I agree with. The "food" part? Not so much.

Nowadays I stay away from any frozen dinner that includes a potato product. Potatoes were just NOT meant for the microwave under any circumstances.
