Is it bad luck ? Is it good luck ? Is it just another day ? Is it a horror movie franchise ? Is it a gimmick ? Do you alter your behavior at all because of the day and what it supposedly means ?
The # 13 and Friday the 13th have always been lucky for me. Though today I did leave the house without my coffee. Went back for it and then got a lousy parking space at the train. The person in the middle seat on the train ate an everything bagel and proceeded to snore. And I almost got hit by a cab as I crossed 6th Avenue. But I am sure that my day will get better. $45M in the MegaMillions and the drawing is tonight. I can feel it now.

As my birthday falls on the thirteeneth of a month, I can't be bothered to be superstitious about Friday the 13th's - otherwise 1 in 7 of my birthdays would be spent cowering in a corner and I'm not about to do that!
Having said that, I do have some other supersitions and do believe I have certain lucky/unlucky days, just not this one.

It's just another day in the rinberg household. Most of the time, the day is half gone before somebody reminds me that it is both Friday *AND* the 13th. Then again, I'm not superstitious about much of anything. Want to pet my black cat? Let me just walk under this ladder to pick him up....

Every Friday the 13th I think of Freddy. I know, wrong movie, but I always think of Freddy.
And it always feels like more people ask me what today's date is on Friday the 13th. I'm sure they dont, but it always feels that way. It is 10:30am now, and I have already been asked 3 times in the 2 hours I have been at work.

I don't recall ever having any bad luck at all on Friday the 13th. It's Saturday the 14th that always seems to kick me in the ass with bad luck.
BTW.....when my wife was pregnant with our daughter, her due date was October 31st. I hoped and hoped that she wouldn't end up having a birthday on Halloween simply so it would be one less thing she could possibly be picked on about while growing up. When October 31st went by with no labor pain warnings from my wife, I was very happy.
She ended up being born on November 13th.....Friday the 13th.

Friday the 13th means I'll watch at least one of the eleven Friday the 13th movies. Because I have them all on DVD (the bare bones, overpriced ones, 'cause I had to have them, dammit), and I love them all dearly.
