| #1 Posted on 13.10.05 1722.13 Reposted on: 13.10.12 1722.38 | Yesterday was a good day to be a comics fan. Villains United #6 led directly into Infinite Crisis #1 and both were great.
Villains United Highlights: -A final conflict of EPIC VILLAINY! No white hats to be found. -Deadshot vs. Deathstroke! A modern-day showdown. -Vandal Savage returns! -The auspicious debut of MR. TERRIBLE~!, who does everything...uh...terribly! -The heartwrenching sacrifice of Parademon, who dies laughing. The Joker would be proud. -The revelation of Scandal and Knockout...as an ITEM! Can't say I saw that one coming. -The final two pages. Catman calling out Ollie on the mindwipes had me rooting for the bad guys on this one.
Lowlights: -So...Mockingbird is THIS world's Lex...or the other world's Lex...or...oh, my head hurts. -This issue appears to be the final hurrah for the Secret Six, which is a shame, because they were a fun little group. But it's looking like Catman and Deadshot will carry on as a duo, which is fine and dandy.
Infinite Crisis Highlights: -The three-way tete-a-tete between the Big Three. Batman's line at the end of the issue was classic. -The Spectre's presence ominously hanging over a doomed Gotham City. -The exhibition put on by the Society, especially Bizarro. "No more pretty lights..." -The ending! "This looks like a job for Superman!" indeed!
Lowlights: -The war in Rann carries on. I still don't give a shit. -This is going to be one of those stories where I'm going to need a scorecard to differentiate between the individuals from different worlds, isn't it? -No backstory on Donna Troy, which is bad considering that she's supposedly going to be a MAJOR part of this arc.
Overall, it all looks very promising. If they limit the "separate worlds" thing to Superman and Lex, then I'll love it. Otherwise, it could get confusing quickly. They've got solid storylines with the Society, the OMACs, and the Spectre's rampage. No need to convolute everything by digging into separate worlds too much. Promote this thread! | | Freeway

I really enjoyed Identity Crisis. From there, I went blindly to Countdown to Infinite Crisis and dug the hell out of that, too. I lost interest in the minis completely after 3 or 4 issues and quit buying all of them (save for OMAC) after 5.
And then Infinite Crisis had to win me over again. | Jaguar

| #3 Posted on 13.10.05 2317.41 Reposted on: 13.10.12 2317.45 | I read Crisis on Infinite Earths just so I could get it out of the way, Pre-Crisis and Post-Crisis being what they are to DC and its fans. Personally it felt like a big convoluted mess, but I accepted that because the intent was to fix the big convoluted mess that the DCU had become.
And now we're going to rehash the whole damn thing? I'm unimpressed. DC continues to rock my world on the TV and bore me to death on the page. | GRL

| #4 Posted on 14.10.05 1239.28 Reposted on: 14.10.12 1239.57 | Finally got around to reading Infinite Crisis #1 late last night (I skipped all four minis but kept up with the spoilers online). I must say, I thought it came off as a little light, personally. The build-up to the reveal at the end was all well and good, but I still don't think "This looks like a job for Superman!" is the man responsible as our apex predator.
I dug the Alex Luthor whispers here and there... he's a candidate.
Basically, I just really want to see the Anti-Monitor, damn it!
Plus, we get an issue where the action is rising out of control, and all our trinity can do is talk about it on the moon? I expected more from them, I suppose, even if the conversation WAS damned poignant.

I think that's the point : The Trinity is so screwed up at this point that they can'tbe effective at protecting/defending anything at all. | ALL ORIGINAL POSTS IN THIS THREAD ARE NOW AVAILABLE |
