The Jason Bourne books are pretty good. I read the three all in a row which was probably a mistake as I was so sick of the spy genre that I haven't read anything similar in about 4 years. If you've seen the films, only the first film/book really match up at all.

Have you read any of the Jack Reacher novels by Lee Child? They're pretty good, at least the ones I've ready. Also, I would totally recommend anything by Dennis Lehane (Gone, Baby, Gone - anything in that series, Shutter Island, or Mystic River). Lehane's stuff really aren't all cop books, but it's good stuff.

I don't generally read much in this genre, but I've picked up a few of the books by Jon Land in his Ben Kamal/Danielle Barnea series at airports to have something to read in-flight. They were great for that, briskly paced spy/history novels that kept me turning the pages without having to work too hard.

I don't read much of this genre. But I have read all of the original Ian Fleming James Bond books and enjoyed them very much. I then read Devil May Care and thought it was really bad in comparison to Ian Flemings novels.
