| #41 Posted on 2.3.03 0141.33 Reposted on: 2.3.10 0150.49 | I'll definately echo the sentiments that A Separate Peace was the worst piece of junk ever. I have never wanted to stab my eyes out after reading something.... until then. Man, I'm getting bad flashbacks just typing this. AND I had to see the movie in English class.
Also, A Path of Daggers really wasn't all that spectacular. By the same token, though, it wasn't quite craptacular, either. I'm just waiting for Jordan to do SOMETHING with the Seanchan to make me actually care about them. Also, I think he's forgotten about the whole evil god person... the one he worked around for the first 6 to 7 books? Yeah, him. Is he on summer vacation? Did he go to the beach during all of this? (Of course, I haven't read 10 yet, so my mind may change on that.) | Dahak

But they really haven't gone anywhere in the last 4 books. Of course no one has gone anywhere in the last 4 books except Elayne got knocked up. Oh and on that subject isn't Avienda getting the short end of the deal on the whole foursome thing? | drjayphd

As a rule, however, books based off videogames suck (though, I thought the King's Quest ones were pretty good, if generic, fiction).
By any chance, do you remember who wrote those novelizations? A cursory search on half.com says maybe F.X. Nine... | Excalibur05

That's him. I've always had a sneaking suspicion that that wasn't his real name. | TheCow

Well, that's the thing. They were cool, at first. Now they've become completely stale.
And I've always liked Avi more than any of the other love interests (or girls on the side, if you so prefer), but that's because I've enjoyed the Aiel immensely. (I will say that the Shaido need to fall off the face of the earth - they ceased being useful LONG ago.)
Edited because I have issues with tenses.

If it makes you feel any better, precisely one of his books goes for a minimum of more than 75 cents on half.com: Mega Man Two. (Yes, that's how it's listed there.) And that one? Cheapest price is $1.23. Now, great condition ones go for, like, $20... I don't get why, but if you're willing to get "Very Good", it's two bucks. | Dahak

| #47 Posted on 2.3.03 2011.53 Reposted on: 2.3.10 2012.39 | Well, Cow that is what happens when you try to stretch 6 or 7 books out to 16 or so. Filler up the ass. If Jordan would kill off 15 view point characters. 75 secondary characters and then actually move the plot along then they might be better. But the WOT books are starting to move into true craptacular realm. | ALL ORIGINAL POSTS IN THIS THREAD ARE NOW AVAILABLE |
