I agree that the evil owner/commish or any owner/commish is played out and the agenda needs to change. Since 99 thats what the entire federation has been about. Think about it. Vince/Shane v. Linda/Steph morphed into Steph/HHH vs. Vince. Then Vince/Steph v. Linda/Shane. Then Steph/Shane v. Linda/Vince. Then Vince v. Flair. Bischoff v. Steph. Everything that has been done since 99 has been part of some epic power struggle for control of the company. The wrestlers and the matches have been merely pawns for four years. Yes, it is time for a change.'

The only problem is now everyone knows that the McMahons (especially Vince) own and have total control over the fed. So how do you write that off? Yeah some president guy can butt in every once in awhile, but everyone knows Vince has the final call. It would be extremely hard to do and right now, I don't think Vince and Co. can do anything right.

And I dont call putting some combo of the Smackdown Six, Team Angle and/or Brock into a match and watching them put on quality wrestling doing something right. Hell, I can do that. Uh boyz....tonights main is Team Angle v. Guerrerros/Misterio vs. Brock/Benoit/Edge. Hell yeah its going to be good, but i didnt really do anything.

Simple, have Vince retire. Sure we'll all know deep down that he's still the owner and has full control, but on TV have him retire.

You then bring in a new prsident who, rather than appearing every week and making matches, only involves himself infrequently in major angles and swerves.

The downside of this of course is that Vince is sadly still one of the hottest mic workers they've got, and one of the few that still seems to have genuine energy on screen.

Two of my favorite Jack Tunney moments were:

1) chasing heel referee Danny Davis out to the ring to tell him he was suspended for life and nearly getting into a fight as a result.

2) after the Andre-Hogan screwjob, beginning his address with "February 5, 1988, will go down in WWF history as a day of infamy."

Jack Tunney is dead. He died years ago, I believe it was in the early 90s but somebody else might recall exactly when.

He was the uncle of a friend of my family. Apparently, he had nothing to do with any position like we were led to believe. He was the Head of WWF Canada, which is Carl DeMarco's position these days. He was only ever a business man whose image appealed to Vince, I suppose.

I think the GM job should be switched over to other people every six months. Steph is nowhere to be seen most of the time which is what I thought would the opposite of what would happen with her in charge. I knew Eric would always be on TV, because its Eric. I thought he'd be more of a nuetral boss then uber-heel. I started out that way with Eric putting the belt on him then questioning HHH's wrestling ability everytime he did something wrong like attack Shawon or the necrophilla angle. Lately, he has been too uber-heel and he should have been fired before or after No Way Out. His presence on that show has been more irriation then plot advancement. Eric gets pisses orders a match between the people he is pissed about threatens them being fired, match happens, faces die.

With the supesion of the Duldeyz, Regal/Storm always winning, Evolution giving beatdowns and 3 minute suckfest in the background ready to pound on women. You really do have to wonder how long Eric gets to stay around. In a traditional story whether it be wrestling or fiction, eventually something should come along and end the six months of darkness. It could be Austin, but it should be the Army of Freaks to have Eric removed from power. A Fan- I guess Shane doesn't want to be on TV anymore, so they don't have a face in the wings that could be a good GM.

Eric, Steffo and Vince make me long for the days when Mick Foley was Commissioner. I loved it when he would have the makeshift office and finalize the match by pounding the gavel. His interactions backstage with the wrestlers, especially Edge & Christian, Angle, Rock and Stone Cold were awesome. He never made himself the focal point of the storyline, just a reason to progress the storyline.

I miss Mick. He was awesome.

There is absolutely no point whatsoever in pulling Eric Bischoff from TV, mainly because he's hired as an on-screen performer and nothing else. Whereas it's feasible to cool off with Steph, Heyman and Shane due to them having other duties they can concentrate on and work towards during their time out, Bisch is there to do one thing and one thing only: Piss off crowds. Ergo, he stays on screen, in a prominent role, until he leaves the company. And if that's the only alternative, I'd rather keep him as GM, because right now he's actually pretty entertaining. And he's a HELL of lot less stale than ANY of the McMahons. If we have to have an omnipresent authority figure-and the way wrestling works now, we do-I'd prefer it to be him.
