Actually, it's more "evolved" into that reference than anything else.
To tell the truth, the first few times I used the "The Chief" moniker, I was directly referencing the old PBS "Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego" TV show, where a woman known only as "The Chief" sat behind a desk and gave orders to the contestants on what they had to do in any particular segment of the show (kind of like I'd expected Morely to do, combinded with how they'd placed him as "Chief" Morely). That's where "The Warrant" came from (contestants had to find, in order, the loot, the warrant, and that week's criminal).
don't worry dude, i got the reference! and cracked up the first time you used it :-D
i love when rockapella used to sing it.. "the WAR-rant"

Well, it certainly is nice that SOME people got the reference. It's the thing that is the most often not understood, so it warms the cockles of my heart that there are fellow Carmen fans out there who share my memory of the Warrant.
Ok, that last sentance was just so I could say "cockles".

"Eric Bischoff shows off his mad skillz by breaking various fruits. All this needs is a sledgehammer."
What in the hell could it possibly be?
Oh.... and Chief was played by Lynne Thigpen, and Sean Morley is *no* Lynne Thigpen.
And another thing -- Rockapella ruled every time they decided to rename The Loot during the Loot/Warrant/Crook game. That was a really well done show... too bad the sequel, Where in Time is Carmen Sandiego?, sucked ass.

Excalibur05 - the cartoon is on Fox47 at 7AM, in case you care. Not that you'd probably want to get up that early just so you could watch Zach and Ivy get jerked-around by a floating head, but, well, just thought I'd let you know.
I always figured the Warrant was some equivelant to Steiner's contract. But I started to catch-on after a while.
